I read about a lawsuit, some guy is suing a "exercise ball" company cuz when he tried to bench his 75 lbs dumbells on it, the ball popped and he hurt his back.

Thoughts?

Its because people are not only cheap, but stupid. Nobody wants to pay $50 for the commercial grade stability ball, so they buy those see through glorified beach balls for $20 at WalMart.

WTF are you doing in the jews forum?

shut up

Legally he probably has a claim. I have seen the balls advertised with people kneeling on them, doing bench presses etc. and if a ball manufacturer made representations like that it can, and will, be held accountable in a court of law.

Before I became a lawyer I always though cases like this are total bullshit but in reality some people get really fucked up with products that do not do what the manufacturers claim it can do (think of all of the supplements out there guys and the bogus claims they make). People should have the right to sue these fuckers.

Heck, I am just beginning to see lawsuits pop-up regarding supplements (look at the recent BSN suit). Supplement companies that make false, or even thinly supported claims, need to be reigned in. The same goes for a ball company that may have advertised it ball as being strong and durable when in fact it is not.

If I did this exercise and some cheap Chinese company made shitty balls that easily break, yet they advertise it as being capable of holding my weight, and it didn't and I get hurt, then I should be able to sue the lying fuckers.

DB presses from an exercise ball are on some of the Westside regimes. I think they feel good. Never thought about the ball popping, though.

People sue for everything nowadays, lol.
