sound card: soundblaster x-fi

casualbb

Plat Hero
Platinum
these are all the rage in soundcards nowadays.

I DJ dance music as a hobby, and i'm ready to get more serious. but my old soundcard was such a piece of shit that any demo recordings I tried to make sounded grainy and hollow

Well i bought this because it had RCA input for my mixer and could record in VERY high quality audio (4x cd quality)

so far it's the shit. my recordings are indistinguishable from the records

Also it has all sorts of effects that can actually beef up how your mp3's sound. mp3's sound like they were better encoded.

All in all, if you do any kind of computer recording or listen to high-quality audio, I recommend one of these babies. I got the soundblaster x-fi platinum for the extra inputs, ran $200 but so worth it. The base model is about $130 if you don't plan on doing recording.

buy an m-audio 1814 interface... by far the best bang for the buck out there in terms of da converters/ daw interfaces.
