Sony drops PS3 price to $499, Microsoft expected to follow suit

Sony's Playstation 3 computer entertainment console rose to the top of amazon.com's top seller list after the price drop yesterday, surpassing even the Wii. Microsoft is expected to announce price drops for all their 360 models by $50 to $80, at their E3 conference live @ 11:30 est on gamespot.com. I'm such a tech geek these days

Those new game systems cost over $500?! Crap, that's a lot for a friggin' video game system.

Last system I had was SNES. FFIII >>> any crap they release nowadays.

I think Zelda 3 and Castlevania 4 for SNES had it slightly beat.

FF III was fuckin awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. god i loved that game

i might download the rom just to play it.

i'm glad i held out on getting any video game systems. now i can snag one at a decent price.

although i'll probably end up getting teh wii, which definetely won't drop in price

The only reason to get a Wii would be in hopes that they release FFIII on the virtual console downloadable games.

it fuckin kicks ass! The gameplay is sick.

i played it at my friends house with a few other buddies and it was intense.

its definetely not a system you get for graphics but for fun and gameplay it blows away all the other systems.

I played Wii sports 4 players, and the bowling was the only decent fun it offered. I figure why go through all the extra motions that still aren't as responsive/accurate (with perhaps the exception of pinpoint aiming) as using a normal controller. I'd rather go outside and do it for real. I don't see a lot of longevity as far as ingenuity with the Wii-mote goes. I liked playing Super Mario World on it with the classic controller far more. I'd like to try an fps game using the pointer though.

The wii got old and Im still waiting for more games to come out for the PS3. The price drop was much needed.
