Something wrong with my leg.

Last wednsday I played a soccer game. I havent played in about a year and a half. I have been working out and running for a while now, but not playing sports. After the game I noticed a pain in my right thigh, like a charlie horse. I thought nothing of it, I figured I caught a knee in the thigh. The next day it was sore, but it has only gotten more sore each day since. Now today a bruise appears on the outside of my knee cap. It doesnt hurt where the discoloration is, but it hurts to the touch all around it. I can still walk on it, but it hurts when I do walk. Could I have torn a ligament and still be able to walk? I have no idea what is wrong, does anyone have any idea what it might be.

i tore my acl and meniscus in my left leg and was able to walk even though it was sore, but everytime id try to do anything active on it it would go out and hyperextend on me so i had to get surgery. get it check just in case.

is the pain in the knee or around it? or is in the theigh ?

Initally the pain was mainly in the knee. My thigh felt a little bruised. Now there is a visible bruise on my thigh, and my knee has felt much better. As far as my knee, the pain is on the outside of the knee and also on the inside of the knee cap. My thigh is really hurting. I am limping and it aches all up my thigh. I have done more research and I think it could be a stress fracture. At this point Im confused. I thought the femur was the strongest bone in the body. How could the pain move from the knee to the thigh?

well as far as the bruising graviy will in most cases send the bruising down settleing around the knee. If it is a stress fracture that is better then a torn ligiment or tendon.

I just looked up and relized you are in KC have you though about visiting the bone and joint clinic?

I havent thought of that, Im trying to come away from this without spending money. I figure if I go to a doctor, he will x-ray it, and tell me I have to stay off the leg. Then Im 1000.00 in the hole. I am now noticing that the bruise is kind of warm. Does that mean anything?

is there any redness? if it is red and warm it can mean infection.
Do you not have any insurance?

You guessed it. No insurance. No redness, so I think I can rule out infection. Im gonna suck it up and see a doctor. What the hell, just one more bill I cant pay for.

is say visit a chiro ... you can get an examination for free.. and get some answers.
Ya, actually I planned on doing that this weekend. My uncle is a chiropracter. But I know he will tell me to go and get it x-rayed. Besides he wont be ablt to prescribe anything for the pain.
