Something is wrong ..

Ok, in less than 2 weeks is going to be 6 month I am living here.
So far I don't have friends and I haven't speak to anybody outside the office. If someone talks to me in the street, I just say I don't speak english.
I go twice a moth to the supermarket and I hate it. My diet is based on rice, meat, pasta and milk.

just part of the hole thing.

I don't think this is normal ...
What would you suggest?

You wanna join my hermit clan, you gotta give homage!

Well, I don't know, wasn't asking for advice really ... just telling.
I hate going to the supermarket 'cos it's full of people making noises.
I am argentinian and I am in Scotland because I got a job here.
I have hobbies, I see lots of movies I rent by the post and I spend long time here, reading about art mainly or whatever. Posting in some forums. Listening to music. Drawing.

I was sick like a year and a half ago. Maybe my actual behavior is like a side effect.

I will relocate soon, I don't think I should be keeping this lifestyle much longer.

Jobs in Scotland...I call bullshit j/k ;)

That sounds like it could be hard, given english isn't your first language, but you seem to speak it well enough on here. Just throw yourself in a social situation. Only good can come out of it. Get out of the rut and bad habit of being antisocial. Have some beers and talk some people up if given the chance.

dude, go to a bar.....those scots love to talk about how much they hate the english....lol.....it's fun

My english is "good" but my scotish sucks. I did go to a bar once, comapany get together, but I don't drink alcohol (for now) so I felt stupind holding a bottle of water all night.

I fucking miss lifting, it was really a scape for me, but I can't start now, I have to wait until I move.
I will go to Spain next year, maybe things will be different there.

Is not that I am not happy or complaining, but I know it's not quite normal and when people star to notice it, well, I just go somewhere else...

I don't know, I guess nobody is fully normal is such attribute exists at all, but damn..

Why don't you drink?

Easy to explain and to understand, but surely the deep meaning is going to be lost in translation.
I believe in life balance. When you get something, then smthing else is going to be taken or maybe already took, and the other way around.

I got something, so I gave anotherthing I really liked (drinking fine wine) before something else could be taken, something I would miss more.

Sounds wired? :worried:

You're in a country where you don't speak the language well, anyone would feel uncomfortable. I think that you're doing a lot better than most people would. Not many people would even attempt what you're doing, they would talk themselves out of taking the chance before even moving to another country.

I think that you just need to get out and try to meet people in social situations in whatever country you go to next. Meeting new people there will help you enjoy the experience and make the time there more pleasurable.

I agree with what big4life said... also, it's perfectly fine not to drink :) but if you feel uncomfortable sitting in the bar with a bottle of water, maybe you could order one light beer to sip on throughout the night if it makes you feel less out of place, or even just a diet coke - it looks less obviously non-alcoholic than water, people'll probably just assume it's a rum and coke or something. :)

1st of all, never wait to start working out again. Getting in the gym again will help boost your overall confidence.
I've never been all alone in a different country, but there are times that I have to traval around the US for work. Some of the best times I've ever had have been going out all by myself in these new places. It forces me to be more open to others coming up to me. Women are just like guys, they go out to me people. If you are by yourself, they seem to be more likely to come up to you. You just gotta look confident. Look like you don't give a shit if you are there by yourself or not.

Make a T-shirt that says "I'm lonely, talk to me" and wear it around town.

ok guys, Its way to late for me .. I have an early start and a tough day at work :[
thanks for posting, I really apreciate it

About the perfect ass girl ... Believe me, there are quite a few asses like that one, diying for a pumped american with some green in his wallet ...

yeah, even if you don't feel confident, pretend you are. faked confidence is better than real insecurity and once you realize you aren't out of place and you start to feel more comfortable it'll (hopefully) become real confidence. :)
