Every major historical conflict or catastrophe has been depicted in a major motion picture, thanks to Hollywood.

How many years do you think itll take before Jerry Bruckemhiemer makes a movie about the sept 11 terrorist attacks?

Thatll be very weird - Tom Sellack as the "president" , Vivica A Fox as Conzo-leeza Rice, and Ben Afflict as the heroic American Airlines passenger who storms the cockpit of the fourth hijacked plane......

Even weirder think about this....how many years between a catastropic event and the broad public acceptance of the accompanying major motion picture documenting the event , are needed?

If someone made a dramatic movie about sept 11 th and tried to sell it today, people would be disgusted. But ten years from now, itll be cinematic "gold".

That shit, and yes, I say "shit", is very close to becoming a reality. North American culture is so accustomed to entrusting celeberties with our confidence and happiness, its conceivable, major political decisions that require massive public support will have to be endorsed by hollywood, either via situational sitcoms depicting the scenerio, or blantent, "my name is Ben Stiller, and Communism must be stopped!!"

Its really pathetic.

One thing I noticed after the sept 11 attacks. "The Agency" was airing shows that parrelled real life terrorist threats. But the program always protrayed America as having the upperhand - thus promoting the restoration of American public confidence in their government - unconsciously. It couldve been the writers unconscious nationalistic sentiment finding expression, but the State Dept met with hollywood offficials after the sept 11 attacks, and Im *sure* theyd be pushing that.

Gotta up the consumer confidence yo!

Prior to Sept 11th, there were a number of shows with terrorist themes set to be aired. I'm thinking that they'll eventually go back to them.

on variuos "young" tv programs how it is

it was on entertainment tonight this very night, on freinds episodes, on news stations.....every where.

In the40- 50's the US government actually asked the media to "condition" the masses to coax them to have babies, so there could be more labor for the work force, and other reasons that pleased the elite. can any one say "BABY BOOM"


the abilty for the media to work in concerted effort to push forth there interests or the interest of the elite in general is a very near reality. and also when you take into account the cultural backround of our population which is essentiall no culture.

the ability for the conscience of this population to be molded and manipulated is very possble.
