No. Please keep buying gas guzzlers you don't need and fill up your tanks every day. Be sure to keep 50 gallons spare in your trunck or truck bed too please. Thank you for your support.

I love having the company I work for pay for my gas, it just warms my heart.

lmao

You shutup.

I know. The more money and research that is put into it, the more alternatives and better solutions will follow. The price will also go down. 10-15 years is a government/oil industry estimate I bet ;)

what alternative are you suggesting?

and will this alternative be used in all modes of transportation, planes, trains and automobiles?

and do we mandate companies to invest in R&D, testing, phasing in, and building an infrastructure for such alternative?

no amount of complaining, whinning, or bitching in the whole world is gonna change the fact that crude is the best source available and will be until it runs completely out. period.

Slap a $4 per gal tax on gas and use the proceeds to offset reduced federal income taxes. In the meantime watch all those 10 gal per mile Hummers and Excursions disappear along with the tons of toxic emissions while auto manufacturers spit out 60 mile per gal hybrids by the millions. Cut our dependence on foreign oil by 50% and erase the need to drill in Alaska.

well considering the thread is about the disparity between the price of iraqi gasoline and american gasoline, i'll consider your suggestion the most ignorant fucking thing said in this thread.

not to mention the brilliant idea of increasing the cost of a gallon of gasoline by 200%, bringing the cost to a approx. $6 a gallon. but only increasing the gas milage of a vehicle by 300%, at 60mi. to the gallon leaves the conclusion that you are one dumb bastard. please see example.

1000mi trip devided by 20mi/gal. = 50gal. times $2/gal = $100

1000mi trip devided by 60mi/gal. = 16.66gal. times $6/gal = $100

;)

My post was directed at the people in this thread who brought up our dependency on foreign oil shit-for-brains. And you proved my point without even realizing it dumbass. Using your calculations the trip would still cost the same but would use approx 2/3 less gas.

Oh yeah..you spelled divided wrong...twice.

i didnt prove your point dipshit. my post is based on the context of the thread being about the disparity of gasoline prices between iraq and america. thats why i said that in my post. ;)

people are bitching about the price not dependency. the ones that are bitching about dependency are referring to the price. using your tax hike, we would still pay the same even with an economical vehicle, meaning, people will still bitch about the price. ;)

and me and curling are paying over $2.10 a gallon. there are people in iraq smuggling the gas they payed $0.05 a gallon for and taking it to neighboring countries and receiving over a $1.00 a gallon for it. i'm glad my fukin tax dollars are helping to support some scumbag smuggler on the other side of the world. for a country with 30% unemployment they should be able to keep busy by driving around and doing absolutely nothing except burn 5 cent a gallon gas. excellent

They pay that because they own the fucking oil man. You're really going to begrudge them for that when you're sitting here in the USA ?

True.

But that may take 25 years, and in the meantime -- i'm out $35k extra.

what a lovely lose/lose situation. hehe. :)

Maybe less than 25 years. They already had electric Jeeps back in WWII. Of course these were experimental but better than nothing. We weren't interested in other alternatives otherwise it would be out there.

Btw folks, taxes (all kinds) represent a good 65% of the cost here so here's the problem.
