My girlfriend is also a designer and she's had this on and off again client for a few years now. So we're catching up the other day over lunch and she tells me the client is back in her life.
Background:
Client - Married straight couple, fairly well off monetarily but very cheap (yes not cautious w/ money - just a penny wise and a dollar foolish) 2 year old boy, wife is preggo with a girl.
House - 1 story house, 5 bedrooms, includes separate guest wing and maid's quarter's (I've been to the house a few times to help my gal pal out) they've added on to the house twice in 6 years.
So in short the parents want to take the little boy's room and make it the little girl's room and put the boy in the media/den (2 walls of built-ins, plasma, sofa and two chairs).
Now a normal person would think that they meant that they wanted to turn the media/den into the little boy's room. Right? Well, NO. They don't want to touch anything in the room, they just want to wedge a bed in between the wall and the back of the sofa because they still want to use the room as a place to WATCH TV.
WTF?
You have 3 other bedrooms and you've going to put your first born on a bed in your TV ROOM, they might as well put the kid in the garage.
What is wrong with people?
