Regardless of religion (or lack thereof), who's training tomorrow (xmas eve)? I know I'll be there, bright and early. I have to get out of the house. The mrs. is baking all morning. That and I'm hoping the gym will be nice and empty and I can get a nice session of un-interrupted supersets in...

Anyone else?

I have a home gym so don't have much reason not to train. What's more, I'm going off to visit family so this is my last chance to hit the weights until around Thursday.

I'll probably do some front squats, Pendlay rows, cleans and, maybe, some work with my new Oly DBs. I've been looking forward to trying some farmers' walk with them.

Just came from there, gym and pool was packed. And now its gonna be new yearers around the gym too =D

Happy christmas

Having started working out at a gym insead of at home, I forgot about the New Year crowd. I bet I can still walk right in and use the squat rack every time though :p

Right you are.

And as far as the New Year's crowd, it's not as bad as the spring break/summer crowd. The bad weather and lack of commitment seems to cut those new members off at 2 weeks, but in the summer the new members definitely keep figting the good fight, but inevitably most of them go down in flames after MAYBE breaking even due to their poor eating/partying habits during the summer months. Not being holier than thou at all, just commenting on gym politics. Very interesting stuff.

FWIW, I just got back from a HARD 90 min session. Gym was a bit more crowded than I thought, but nevertheless still deserted. What shocked me the most is that there were actually 2 bro's doing legs!! Smith machine squats and nautilus leg press but still. I still hold the crown of the only person i've seen from my gym wo does front squats!! What a sad, sad commentary that is.

I have bin focused on staying sober.I still go to the gym allmost every day but I need some sober time before I jump into harder or new things.any thing could set me up to fail and I have to watch out for that.

went in today to do my monday workout... doing 3 reps on friday and then trying to get 5 today pretty much sucked (intermediate 5x5) got my squats and rows but missed my bench

I am upset that my gym is closed tomarrow. I have monday and tuesday off with pay and really wanted to take advantage and get some heavy workouts in. At least I had today and can go again Tuesday.

Came back to Tallahassee to get my stuff out of this apartment. Gold's gym is not open here on Christmas Eve or I would have. I have some spri bands that I will use just to do something

our gym is great in that its open 24/7 by pass key AND of course no one ever uses the power rack so its all good.

We joined 24 hour fitness because the hospitol my wife works for gives us a huge discount and so that her and I can workout at midnight when she gets home some nights, and being open 24/7 is nice. We scouted out the ones nearest to us, and this weekend I finally found one I like better than the others. Very little cardio equipment. The dumbbells go to 150 and get this TWO power racks.

I spent 2 hours doing legs, quads, hams, and calves, and I'm waiing on a knee replacement in march, could barely walk out of the gym, and that was with my cane!!

I plan on lifting x-mas day, we kinda celebrated today and only having a small dinner tomorrow.

I also lifted last week when we lost power for 4 days - the garage had no heat, no music and no lights, except for outside with the garage door :chomp:

ok, that's fair. i thought this would keep you focused and determined, but you know what's best. i want you to get stronger mentally before you get stronger physically.
:)
merry xmas.

Now that's hardcore.

I finished my usual Monday workout a couple of hours ago.

Hell, mine was closed yesterday and today, which throws me off of my routine. I figured out how I'm going to fix it, just going to suck only a day of rest in what should be two days of rest. Guess next weeks lifts will be the same as this weeks lifts.

Glad to see so many dedicated bro's here. I'm really envious of you guys with home gyms, even if it's just a power rack with an oly bar and some plates. I wouldnt mind hoppin in the garage for some squats tonight. Oh well...

If my routine did not rely so heavily on dumbbells for upper body, I would not even need a gym. I would just invest in a power rack, a bench to go in it, an oly bar, curl bar and plates. What more could you possibly need? Machines, cables and cardio equipment are absolutely not essential to build an exceptional physique, and they are not even beneficial for someone who's primary focus is strength over appearance. The only real benefits of a gym are diversity of equipment and a social environment.

Yea, suffice it to say, today was a "re-feed" day for me. Glycogen's nice and full, gonna hit shoulders and calves tomorrow, with 90 minutes of god-forsaken cardio. Wanna wish everyone the best of luck towards reaching their goals for the new year and beyond!
:)
