well Xmas still has a bit of a spark in it, because of my little brother hes just turned 12. like take last year , i was out Xmas eve for a bit and came back in about midnight, anyway he comes into my room at 3 am ! asking if its ok to go and open the pressies! lol. we ended up going down at 4.30 to open them. and before we open the living room door, hes all panting and shaking.lol

the way we always have Xmas, is me and my 2 brothers go down on Xmas V early, and we each have a sofa filled of presents. open them, then me and my older brother end up going back to sleep, because we were out xmas eve. then the family all come round to my house at 10am, and swap gifts ect. then i drive my little brother to my dads house where we get even more shit off of him.then have Xmas dinner at my dads, then drive back threw on boxing day.

We are putting out gifts right now. Lot of fun that is. I am guarding the halway and my wife is setting things up downstairs.

I threw two cookies down the garbage disposal and drank the cup of milk. Almost finished but the fucking dog keeps barking and is probably going to wake everyone up.

I got to spend time w/ my parents and the rest of the retired extended family at the new condo on the beach. Its strange w/ no kids, but we sat around & drank. Its weird being the one that is the most sober & watchign the oldsters get loaded.

But we called my brothers - one has 2 kids (2 & 4), and the other has dogs (2 & 4). The one w/ the kids says the whole santa thing doesnt 'do much for them. They have no concept of time yet , so saying "Jimmy are you excited? Santa is comign in 2 days!" doens't do much. Or "Jimmy you better be good because Santa is watching all the little girls and boys!". So Jimmy sits, thinking about it. He goes "How does Santa watch every one?" My brother says "Santa has magic." Then Jimmy sits & thinks some more. THen he goes "Santa doesn't have magic."


Soooo.... the kid is a born cynic. He just wants free stuff whenever Dad forks it over.

Wow.


Let's note that his father was the one up every xmas at 5 am openign presents, regardless of who else was up.

Times have changed.

My immediate family spends X-Mas Eve together, with all of the in-laws....X-Mas Day, everyone spends with their own families.

Works out pretty well.
