Made some money at the tables last night so I went out and bought a harley Night Train today. I don't even have motorcycle licence anymore so I better get busy, the bike should be ready in about a week. Anyone else here ride?

so this is kinda how my bike will look. my pipes will be all black and I'll have the different rims from below (they will be black also though). Also I'll have a different rear fender. I'm stoked to ride it this summer but then I will park it for the next couple of years while I'm overseas.

All Harley owners are also Harley mechanics :)

I hear stuff like that sometimes but would argue it. I probably know 2-3 hundred harley owners personally and none of them feel that way. Sure they will change the oil or little things like that but that is about all. Older Harleys that is probably true but now that phrase mainly comes from people trying to bring down #1, kinda like not supporting the US just because we are on top. IMO of course.

Blunt - I am not a fan of Harley's due to the fact that the performance is lacking for the price. You can get a similiar model that has more performance for ALOT less.

The "Night Train" edition is my favorite model by them though.

how much did it run ya?

Even though 90% of harley's parts are made in Japan? They had to rely on Jap parts cause most american made products are junk anymore. My dad used to ride harley's but got tired of rebuilding every year. The one you got is well suited for your needs though. I doubt you'll be putting over 30k miles on it in a year like my old man. He's just obsessed with riding long distances.

Find yourself a local riding club and make friends w/ guys who can hook you up w/ good priced parts and make friends w/ guys who can be trusted to fix it when you need!

Congrats! Nice ride!

Nice bike . you won't have to crack a wrench on it. maybe a 15-20yr old harley but things have changed . i've rode harleys for 30yrs and only one broke down on me, a 1942 flathead, pushed it 3miles home. saw Easy Rider as a kid and i knew that all i would ever ride would be a Harley. Hell's Angels on hondas? Mongrels on kawasakis? Satan's Tramps on bmw's ? Banditos' on crotch rockets? lol

My best friend owned a large HD dealership in Toronto.

The profit centre was the repair shop first and second the T-shirts that were XXXXXXL to fit 400Lb dudes

damn those were the largest friggin t-shirts I have ever seen!

lol, i had to look up fanboi in the urban dictionary. i hope you meant
a.) hopelessly devoted to a product and not
b.)gay fanboy, a twink ...... :worried:

all i like is the bikes , i don't have one harley t-shirt or any other harley gear.
as far as being left in the dust, hell a bicycle could leave me in the dust, i wouldn't give a shit.
Balanced, smalanced , again i could give a shit less. 30yrs they've got me from pt. a to pt. b. that's all i care about.
i'm a history buff so i find the tradition and history of harleys interesting. to each his own. :)

ahh, i did not know that. i've got more used to the look of the V-Rod but i'm still hesitant to get on one. in 30yrs i've had one wreck, getting on a V-Rod would probably be #2.

Harley’s have a very special vibrating hum to them makes ridding them very nice. :D The girls you date will be very pleased.

I don't know Jack Schitt about Harleys 'cpet that it is my job to look exceptionally hot while on the back of my Old Grump's.

hell yeah, i'm looking for either an old panhead or a newer springer... we'll see. with the after market parts now available, you can set them up to be more reliable than ever, especially so that you don't need to keep an oil tray below it when parked. ;-)

Whiskey

Welcome to the club man. I have an '03 Fatboy.

Don't listen to anyone about them breaking down. I know guys who have over 200,000 miles and have never done more than regular service and tires. Everyone is mired in the idea of the old AMF Harleys where yes they were junk. And none of the parts are made in Japan they all come from the four main manufacturing plants in the US.

Keep the shiny side up.

Cheers,
Scotsman

God, I HATE how loud they are. LOL I jump every time my Old Grump starts up the bike. The neighbors REALLY love him when he takes the bike to work in the early AM.

Lucky for me, the garage is way at the other end of the homestead so I don't hardly hear nuffin. ;)

Ya I'm really ready to ride this summer. I don't even have a licence right now, I let my run out a couple of years ago and when I renewed I didn't get it put on my new licence. Now I have to take a local safety course to get it put back on. It will be funny if I don't get my licence before my bike is done, I'll have to have a friend go pick it up for me.

The Night Train with the black mods will look sick with my Jeep. Now I just need to get a sweet car, that is coming next year I hope.
