snatch grip deadlift

In a snatch grip deadlift, do you pull the shoulder blades back or do you let the upper back round like in a normal deadlift?

Keep your chest and head up. Your low back should be arched. Your upper back should not round.

Like SouthernLord said! Plus when you get up you can tighten the shoulders blades for extra recruitment.

Yo SL can you PM me the DC calf training you are doing I was trying to find it, but I can't thanks bro!

It is nearly impossible to really keep the upper back arched when you are in a snatch grip position.

With the snatch, and OLY lifter will not be positioned like a deadlift at all anyway...so you can't do a "deadlift" from the snatch position really. In a snatch you will start with your shoulders in front of the bar (deadlift would be from behind the bar) which would allow you to have a flat/arched upper back. Shoulders behind the bar changes that with that grip.

You aren't going to be pulling any crazy weights in that position anyway...so I wouldn't get overly concerned.

thanks guys. I'm trying get a little creative when figuring out what I should do for my ME exercise next week.
