Smurfy -

1. I was at Sams today, They sell coca-cola products in 32 packs on the old flat cardboard box bottoms with shrink wrap over them.

2. I blacked-out lumberg, cause I suspect he had sechs with you.

PUddle Fuck -

1. I got like a 6 pack of MM Canned Chicken. If it's gross. I am bombing you.

2. Your fat.

3. Okay that's not 1.

automated packing and filling lines amaze me. i love learning about them at my job and being able to analyze each stage of production to the point where i'm getting awesomo at troubleshooting schtuff hahaha!!

btw you mentioned coca-cola in 32 packs all shrunk wrap and i immediately imagined them flowing like soldiers through a line, starting at birth with the box folder to the cap sorter to hydraulic filling machine nozzles through the labeler onto the shrink-wrapper then heating oven

i wonder how they prevent aeration in the filler since cola is carbonated

let's take a plant tour

temperature plays a role too

then you have change parts for the different sizes, interchangeable shafts (haha!!! shaft!!!) and pucks

cool huh, so many sensors going on you'll go crazy!!!

see...for shampoo, conditioner and lotions, viscosity plays a huge role in filling capability

if we pump the product out of the batch tank too quickly, we can introduce too much air into the product

this air causes filling jams, where the product will spurt into the bottle instead of a homogeneous constant flow

you have to form a delicate relationship between the displacement pump and shear pump, i so happened to cut 20 minutes from one of our larger plant's discharge time because i did so so many shear studies in my pilot plant...all without compromising filling quality :)

One of the coolest fucking things I've ever seen in manufacturing plants is the systems to detect and chuck 'bad seeds'......

Like with bottled beer they have an array of electronic sensors from infrared cameras to lasers and if a bottle is tagged as defective after the fill they have a kicker that kicks out THAT bottle on a full speed line with 99.9999999999% accuracy...

Or even cooler are the same systems that stream solids over a 'air gun' kick our machine..

So imagine a water fall of M&Ms going past an array of like 9000 tiny air nozzles... and based on input from various sensors prior to going over the water fall one of those air nozzles will fire off and knock out / kick off the line one of 10,000 M&Ms currently in the fall...

That shit is fhucking nuts....

Too bad such a system didn't kick swoles ass off the 'line' when he came down the shoot....

:)

i would love to see that M&M one, where's redguru to explain how the sensors work and what they're reading

It's "you're" twiggy! And that chicken is the bestest! What's MM though? It should be the Kirkland Premium brand if at Costco. I can't argue the fat crack :(

You watch 'Modern Marvels' ???

That shit is crazy.

they don't make air nozzle streams that powerful
