Well I agree that most bodybuilders eat far more protein than they actually need. Although it does no direct harm, it's not for me because of expense, wasting of resources, and the plain fact that I don't need that much protein to grow muscles. Of course everyone is different, and there is little doubt that insulin resistant folks prolly do better with higher protein/lower carb diets. I detest fruit AND milk, therefore I could never eat like NClifter. I do really well on grains and legumes so even though I agree with the concept of overall lower protein intake, my diet looks very different to NC's. To each their own.

foods effect everyone differently it seems. if i were to eat grains and legumes like you my appetite gets out of control. i remember someone posting something about fruits and fruictose that said something in fruits causes you to eat less? i forget what it was. but i realized that im getting about 60 grams of fiber a day aswell. because each apple has 5 grams of fiber. and somtimes i eat salads which throw in another 15-20 grams of fiber. maybe its the fiber thats doing the trick? im not shure but the results are awesome. and its an easy diet cause i have a sweet tooth and eating tangy fruits all day fits me well

now if i were to just drink skim milk for a week with veggies i also can get ripped real fast, probably because of all the liquid. but i prefer to eat just fruits its more filling

and also isnt fruictose supposbly muscle sparing? even if its not its definitly sparing mines
 
nclifter6feet6: what are your stats?

Personally I like to take in around 200g Protein (I'm 80kg), with no carbs after 6pm.
This works great for me. 8% Body fat and dropping!

99.9% of the people on this planet don't have anywhere near his genetics either. He could probably grow muscles off a diet of tree bark and moss, most of the rest of us aren't quite that lucky. Not to mention the validity of his claim. I don't beleive the majority of what the pros say about their diet and drug usage.
