Since we are talking about U.S. pres. let me hear how you think they move the Eco.

With the exception of Wars, and Depressions how much does anyone really feel a president makes meaningfull changes in the Economy...

I don't want to hear about the money they promise to give to hire 100,000 more cops across the country or 20,000 more teachers...that shit just wont cut it here...I'm wanting some examples of REAL meaningfull programs that have had a major impact on this country and it's Economy.

Ex: Social programs started by FDR I feel prepared us to enter WWII and got the Economy rolling again as a result of the war

Ex2:Esienhower(sp?) was Pres. when our National highways were being built...Grant it when they were built each mile stretch was long enough to land U.S. planes in case of Invasion of the U.S. at the time or Nuke Attacks outside major Cities.

The federal reserve chair, currently Alan Greenspan, represents the true money/power brokers of the world. If our president pisses off the fed, then the economy goes south. If the president sucks the feds dick, the economy goes ga ga.

People also fail to realize that the people of Alaska (i.e. THE PEOPLE WHOSE OPINION ON THIS IS WORTH MORE THAN THAT OF A BUNCH OF POLITICIANS OR ANYONE IN THE OTHER 49 STATES) actually WANT them to drill! But who cares what those silly Eskimos think, anyway? We know what's best for them. No drilling in Alaska!
