simple carbs after cardio?

snagglepuss

I read that eating simple carbs after training can help reduce muscle catabolism and induce anabolism -- Does this include after cardio workouts, too?

Is your goal to cut or to gain endurance?

When I was cutting I would have carbs like oatmeal or something non sugary.

When I was training for the 5k I would have a dextrose-based recovery drink (so simple)

I always have a complex carb (99% it's oats...) and hour after cardio............

If this is just to maintain cardiovascular health, then it doesnt matter.......you could eat on the treadmill............

right.. it would depend on the intensity of the cardio you're doing. if you are doing high-intensity cardio pushing yourself to 100% of your limit for short periods of time.. you should just supplement it like a weight workout.

otherwise do what jkurz says

LOL....thnx bro...just reccomend what works for moi..........

Read something interesting today in M&F (Yes, I'm not afraid to admit I read it, and flex, and ironmag, and all the others............)....it said that a grapefruit a day will speed up metabilism with no other changes in the diet.......I have always been against fruit......hmmmm

I read that grapefruit thing too, and I recall a fad diet in the eighties that essentially involved nothing but grapefruit. Oddly enough it was called the grapefruit diet.

I tend to steer away from fruit when cutting also.

I found a frozen bottle of "The Amazing Hollywood Grapefruit Diet" in my girlfriend's mom's fridge yesterday.. yep, looked like it was from the 80's or early 90's

I might pick me up a couple of those suckers tonight..........hmmmm....maybe a little splenda on top?

yep, sugar is the normal thing people put on top but splenda would work fine.. bittersweet taste is interesting if ya like that.. will make you actually feel like you're eating a normal breakfast for once!

WTF??? a cup of steel cut, a scoop of protein, 10 egg whites and a tb of flax isnt a "normal breakfast"???????????
