Signing for package in college dorm

Got a tricky question for you mail order experts: I'm going to place an order with an overseas source that my brother ordered from recently. When he got his package at his apartment, he didn't have to sign for it. However, that's not gonna be the case for me, because I live in student housing at my university, and all my packages go through the resident service center. Now, I'm going to have to sign for the package on some stupid clipboard that they use to keep track of all the students' packages, but it's not like I'm actually signing something with the delivery guy. Is this okay, or would it put me at just as much risk as actually signing with the delivery guy? Thanks.

Aussiebound: For the sake of argument, if a controlled delivery were somehow set up and I ran up against some law enforcement, could they use my signature at the resident service desk against me? I mean, is it really as useful as a signature obtained by the actual carrier?

You'll probably be fine. But remember: generally speaking, the fewer people who handle your package, the better. By the way, these folks at the resident service center . . . are they students like you?

If they want to get you they want to get you bro, whether you sign for it or not. If it is a personal stash no worries, most of the time they are after large orders or dealers. If it is international the only thing you really have to worry about is customs getting your package and you are out on the cash, you will get a letter and just disregard it. I know how nerve racking ordering in the mail can be but just relax, if you can't handle the game don't play it.

Done it with no problems. But get a PO just in case. There cheaper then having to pay for your own Community College when you get kicked out and your parents won't pay anymore

hye man i worked in the mail room of a dorm, me and all the other student empolyees could give a shit, and plus alot of mail was from foriegn lands and didnt think a thing about it, but dont screw around drugs in the dorms....they gonna kick ya out if u have the smallest amount and your parents will most likley gonna shit can your funds for college...just my 2 cents

warrants can be issued based upon PO boxes, in this scenario he just doesnt want to physically sign for a package

im assuming you meant warrants cant be issue based upon po boxes....but you dont think they are that stupid...with a few cases i know of....they let the guy take the pack from the po box follow him to his house...then when he enters house...they now have the right to warrant and enter

they followed the guy to his house from the PO box? so they watched him leave the buidling then followed by car? what aould happen if he put the gear in the trunk of his car and didnt go hom? they cant just ask you to open the trunk of your car......

yes they followed him from po box....they already opened the box and knew what was in it...placed it in po box for a setup...
they can go whereever the gear goes without question at all....they already opened the pack and know the illegality of the contents...they then can follow it to where they want! ... it like ... you put a joint in your trunk ... a cop saw you do it... he doesnt ask you to open the trunk..he arrests you..takes your keys and gets it himself...no questions asked!

But the point about getting a PO Box is that it doesn't concern the school anymore. I think it would be much worse to get caught ordering drugs to your school mailbox. I'm sure the school would get involved if they had a search warrant for your dorm room though.

I go to school at University of KY, and while I don't use any steroids, I remember that when I got a package, you signed a form at the beginning of hte year allowing the desk people to sign for any packages for you and place them behind the counter untill you come to pick them up. So basically they would sign for the package and put a note in ur po box at teh dorm and let you know you have a package, and you would have to show ID and the note to recieve the package.

BTW, I had a buddy get caught with MJ in the dorms, and he was given 1 strike, and told me that he was allowed a total of 2-3 strikes and put on probation with the university for one year, had to attend drug classes, and do community service and got a letter sent home to the parents.
