They have more opportunities because they get an extra push. They start organizations such as the NAACP and have the ACLU always on their side. Affirmative action guarantees them that no matter their academic performance, they can get into a college that a non minority worked twice as hard to get into. I can see the reasoning for having it, but in the end it will only hurt them.

I specifically said black neighborhoods because around here this is where all the crime is. You look at towns a few miles away from me such as Hillside, Irvington, Newark, East Orange, etc., etc., and they have shootouts and robberies daily. This is just a fact that these are very unsafe high crime rate towns. So of course people will lock their doors when driving through them.

So what was my point? My point was that with all the help they are given to succeed, most choose a life of crime in place of trying to better themselves. Which is why their neighborhoods are so full of crime making them unsafe. It is my personal choice not to go rob a gas station...why do they? Nobody is keeping them from attending college, from getting good jobs (We even went as far as establishing quotas to make sure they get them!) There's a point where you cant help a person anymore and they gotta start working at it for themselves.

Am I 14? No. But if I was, would it matter? Are you being discriminatory against youngsters? :fro:

Good points. But don't waste your time arguing with morons. JK

Until you learn how to spell and type, I will ignore what you write. Have some common courtesy, will you?

that's cute. I acknowledged that I type like shit. :D But even a dumbass like yourself can probably figure it out, although you do appear to be among the stupidest members on this forum.

Congrats.

Well, the post is there for you to address, whenever your done giving your Uncle anal tongue darts and a reach around. (or was that your Mom doing that? probably, since it's her brother, and based on the sophistication of your posts that went on a lot in your family.)

God bless you, Matt

LOL! Where? Do you think the NAACP and ACLU are anything more than lobbying organizations?

Some states are starting to do away with this practice. Good.

OK, I agree. I know those areas and they are not places I want to live.

Nobody is keeping them from attending college

OK, so blacks are concentrated in areas where "all the crime is". Shootouts and robberies daily, very unsafe high crime rate towns. Yet "no one is keeping them from college" and "they get an extra push."

Right. All the advantages of growing up in East Orange and Newark.

I was talking about AA being that extra push.

Academically nobody is keeping them from attending college. Maybe they are in a bad environment, but do they realize this? And if they do, would they want to change? If someone is determined enough to want something, they will do it no matter what odds are against them. But they gotta want it....you cannot hand someone motivation-that comes from within.

Look at all the people in History that grew up in poor dirty unsafe conditions and managed to become some of the wealthiest people in the world. It's up to the persons self to make a change-nothing else.

Yes, they make up about .000000000000000000000000001% of the population whereas the elite and rich stay elite and rich 99.9% of the time. Yeah, your argument sure does make sense.

Personally, I'd be more pissed off if I got passed over for an Ivy League school. All that work in HS to finish near the top, so I can go to a second tier school like Duke? (excellent school but not Ivy) Fuck that!!

Bullshit is bullshit.

I'm more pissed off that atheletic scholarships take precedent over any academic achievement at many universities. And this goes for people of all races.

This is a topic that is very emotion, instead of logic, driven.

If a man is smart, creative and ambitious, and produces something of great value to society, whereby he makes huge sums of money from it, he is naturally going to leave it to his children. Since his children are better off in the world than 95% of the population, they are going to have greater access to schooling and job potentials. This happens over generation after generation, and there are other families like this. Did they do anything immoral to attain the status that they exist in? If not, then why are so many hated as if they did do something illegal to gain their positions?

While there is no doubt that power corrupts, the world would not be as well off as it is without a Henry Ford, a Thomas Edison, a John Rockefeller. Historically, it has always been the inventiveness and drive of only a few people who alter mankind, yet they are despised by those who have done nothing but complain about their status in life.

Ok so it is a small percentage that became the wealthiest...I didnt say look at everyone, just at the people who actually make a noticeable achievement.

But the people you don't hear about is the millions of poverty stricken folks that actually improved their lives-Jumped up a class. People who started out with next to nothing and worked to give themselves a life like many Americans. Of course you won't hear about these people, but they had the ambition and worked when the odds are against them-it doesn't matter if they became the richest, they still changed a bad life.

Im done with this thread, you continue to think lazy asses deserve handouts..it's your money as well.....
