as far as locking doors, what does make one feel safe? we cant drive around in armoured cars, the gas would be too much. so locking doors is a simple line of defense yes, but its basically all you have.

There are huge probs in the black community. No doubt. I don't think too many of them are unique to blacks, although some may be.

The intial point of my posting hre was that a lot of white people use bitch their own lack of success by blaming minorities, affirmative action, etc., when they have noone to blame but themselves.

From that point I went on to say that people in power love this divisiveness because it pits Ameruican against American in the voting booth, meaning there will never be enough of a majority to displace the powers that be and change anything.

We get screwed (30% or mroe taxes) and we blame each other. great, isn;t it?

yes i agree, and as i stated in a post above, this is definitely not just exclusive to white trash. its very simple, just replace "non-white" in your statement with minorities and it makes just as much since. you people need to realize that it is a mentality not associated with skin color but with human nature. people at the bottom are for the majority there due to thier own failures and just love to shift the blame to something else, it justifies thier laziness.

I think that it is pretty sad that more people voted for the winner of American idol than for President.

I think that all people who are economically disadvantaged can become ideologically aligned, yes. I think most of the black race's issues are economic ones, and are found in equal quantity among poor whites.

sorry, i dont see it happening. too many other issues dividing people. i agree, when your poor it perpetuates related problems. but it all comes back to one thing for me. people are poor for the most part for a reason. usually due to there own faults. are these faults strictly limited to thier surroundings??? that seems to be your premise, but i dont know.

they are too busy blaming other people instead of doing what needs to be done in order to live a successful life without crime or poverty. you cant make people be wealthy or well off. some people are content with living like shit.

what are you implying? That statement is worthless.

They have more opportunities because they get an extra push. They start organizations such as the NAACP and have the ACLU always on their side. Affirmative action guarantees them that no matter their academic performance, they can get into a college that a non minority worked twice as hard to get into. I can see the reasoning for having it, but in the end it will only hurt them.

I specifically said black neighborhoods because around here this is where all the crime is. You look at towns a few miles away from me such as Hillside, Irvington, Newark, East Orange, etc., etc., and they have shootouts and robberies daily. This is just a fact that these are very unsafe high crime rate towns. So of course people will lock their doors when driving through them.

So what was my point? My point was that with all the help they are given to succeed, most choose a life of crime in place of trying to better themselves. Which is why their neighborhoods are so full of crime making them unsafe. It is my personal choice not to go rob a gas station...why do they? Nobody is keeping them from attending college, from getting good jobs (We even went as far as establishing quotas to make sure they get them!) There's a point where you cant help a person anymore and they gotta start working at it for themselves.

Am I 14? No. But if I was, would it matter? Are you being discriminatory against youngsters?
