shoulders

He's a genetic freak. He also reps 315 on the bench like I do 135.

Stick to the basics and continue to eat. Standing overhead press, flat/incline bench, weighted dips, seated db press, rows, deads, etc, etc.

yeah i love Dwight howard's shoulders.. they just pop out at me everytime i see him play ball.

It's also a racial trait. Look at most black guys who work out, the deltoids usually respond really well to training. Weather it's sprinting, boxing or shooting hoops, the black guys seem to have more rounded deltoids. (Not often mentioned, but has anyone seen better delts than Ronnies!)

I will agree with this. The gym I train at is 70/30 black to white ratio.

Most of the black guys are big, ripped, and strong. At least compared to the average white gym goer.

For me (and I know my heavy lifting power lifters will hate me for it) I find I need super sets to get my shoulders to grow. I do a basic 5x5 but on my MP day I add in a lot of extra super set work on my shoulders. front raises, side raises,up right rows, shrugs. When I walk out of the gym I want to not be able to lift my arms. This is what works for me. Along with the core lifts.

yah theres this black guy at my gym, only just started going but obviously went there before. Really nice guy but fuck his arms and shoulders are huge, by far the biggest of anyone who goes to my gym. never seen him train legs though...

Im with you on this too.

Start with your heavy pressing for 4-5 sets then isolate the different heads of the delts with strict form.

I think delts are predominantly slow twitch muscles. High volume and frequency will make them grow and they recover fast. About the only exercise that gives me shoulder DOMS is heavy weighted dips.

Dips are an amazing esecrise for all the pushing muscles in the upper body. Shoulder pressess are key for shoulder development....of course you need to isolate the muscle from different angles to completly work them.

I agree, dips are sick.

For shoulders I only did this twice but I liked it at the time, heres what I did:

Strict BB Shoulder Press 3x5
Lateral Raise 3x12-15
-superset with-
DB Front Raise 3x12-15
-superset with-
Seated DB Press 3x15-20

that circuit at the end is called the Delt Triad, cant remember who's site I got it form though...

I've been lucky with my shoulders, they've always been strong and look decent too, but I've always lacked in legs.. No lower body here, but doin squats 3x a week been helping alot.. YAY good shoulders!!

you should try adding some calf work 2 times a week too if you've been lacking with your legs (if you don't already).
