Shoulder Injury Diagnosed

Well after months of doctors visits and tests the doctor finally diagnosed me with a SLAP tear in my right shoulder. MRI's don't usually show them real well, but mine showed enough meaning there is probably more damage in there then we thought.

September 7th I go under the knife. 2 weeks of convalescent leave (read: free leave) then it's to at least 4 to 6 months of physical therapy.

Bottom line:
-Deployment: Canked
-Flag football: Canked
-Roller hockey: Canked
-Gym: Canked

I'm glad to bring some closure to the whole thing. I knew it was a high probability, but it's still a bummer now that it's final. I have friends heading to Iraq who I can't go with because of this.

Shoulders suck ass. Ive had 3 surgeries rob.
I guess the bright side is my legs have always been tougher than race horses.

get a second opinion. that sounds like a long recovery, no scope?

Shoulder injuries are among the toughest to recover from. Mine never fully healed yet (strained rotator cuff- still scar tissue that makes dips/decline benches hard), even after physical therapy/rehabilitation. It needs rest to heal but it's hard to stop using a shoulder.

It's arthoscopic surgery. I'm pretty sure I used the phrase "under the knife" out of context. It took so long because of he's not the first doctor to see me. The first one said the same thing. This one wouldn't operate without me going through all nonoperative procedures to try to heal it. Surprising for a military doc.

well bro Im sorry to hear your all buggered up,but Im also glad your not being sent to iraq, even though its what you train and work to do, war is hell man,I hope you never see that, some of the stories my uncle told me from active duties he has been on disgusts me
