This is what I've been saying on the mod board for months now. Between us mods in there, we know who's pulling their weight and whose not. I feel those of us (and you know who you are!) that just go to the mod board for it's "fun and games" and do NOT moderate to their full potential, should maybe get what's coming to them. It IS hard work being a mod, people don't see what goes on behind the scenes, but we're doing stuff that no one sees and appreciates. That is the price we pay for being a mod. The price we pay for enjoying the mod board and all it's benefits/free links/parties/pics/gifts...etc etc... Sure we want to keep all those things, but come on people, do your job to keep the benefits! Fucking freeloaders!

Thats a Mod Senator right there, you can be the whip of the new EF Senate

Does the mod board have like classis arcade games b/c that would be cool. Like playing head to head Galaga and digdug. Galaxian would be cool too.

Someone's got to stand up for something. It's frustrating when complaints on the mod board are met with silence and benoviations. I thank Brothabill for this thread, but who knows where it will go. Some people just take their jobs more seriously than others, I guess. Should we hard workers be more critical because we want more? It's a hard choice to make when you have good friends on the board.

I may have already said too much. This subject just hits too close to home. I wish the recall election for mods was held today. That's all I'm saying.

No you have not said too much. Lucky for all of us you have reiterated what everyone knew already and was unable to say it because they were too affraid.
It is true no one knows what will happen with this thread but an election or some kind of change is achievable and beneficial if people listen and really want it to happen.

Well IMO we are the majority, WE make this board what it is I am not saying the mods have a say they do, and I enjoy alot of the mods posts but of WE want something changed I have confidence the powers to be will do the right thing.

No problem man. They're getting sick of me in the mod forum talking about this, so I may as well say it out in the open. Like I said before, some of us are workaholics, some of us want a free ride.

I thank everyone for their support and kind words in the karma messages and PMs. I work tirelessly and that SHOULD be enough reward. The kind words I'm reading from other members is thanks enough.

Interesting.

Anytime we get a new batch of mods the losers cry FAVORITISM AND POPULARITY CONTEST.

Oddly enough our last group of mods we're voted in by their peers so those that "won" and "lost" did so by their peers on this very board.

Truth is - moderators are supposed to ensure that the board is run by the guidelines of the TOS (Terms of Service), moderators are not babysitters, nor are they cruise directors. On the topic specific boards (ie. fitness related) the mods are there to do the above and direct people to the correct places to get their questions answered.

So I guess the real question here is - What is your motivation behind you repeated anti-current mod tirades?

Or are we just hitting the bottle again?

lol@ another mod trying to preserve his/her spot...

the problem starts when mods start modding their own personal preferences...a perfect example is my chefwide thread that got locked. if that thread was made about anyone else (non-mod) it would not have been locked and would have made a few chuckle...whenever someone makes a "I'm leaving" thread it is obligatory to make jokes about it, rightly so i may add.

The only reason you weren't made a mod was because you were a mod elsewhere - which wasn't really fair because there are mods that are mods elsewhere - it's just that they were mods here first.

As far as China - I don't get what you mean.

But that's between me, George and BRR.

Not really refering to myself as much as other people post regular on important forums such as AAS this place is all politics it wont change this was a good thread topic but I don't expect it to change a thing around here.

Then say just what you do mean.

Well, I agree with you and the AAS board - is like a totally different world than the rest of EF.

But that is not the purpose nor intent of Brothabill's threads or opinions as he only visits chat and posts on chat.

Well I will be brutaly honest if this is just for chat I could care less. I would say 95% of recent threads on chat suck and that ain't the mods fault that is the members.

\if there was a vote would you make the cut? funny how those who don't favor term limits are the ones already in office
I would vote her back Velvett is on of the rare mods that actually lets you know when or if she locks edits or deletes something and why.

Then we agree.

The only mods that really matter are on AS, training related forums and food/diet related ones and there are some members out there right now that would serve well as a mod as being helpful and knowledgable but somehow something changes when you get mod under your name.

Chat is just a clicky popularity contest - the more you post and the more you suck up to each other the more you are "liked" but that offer you no value elsewhere.

You must spread some Karma around before giving it to velvett again.

I just wanted to guilt you into stopping by more

yo fuck being a mod, who wants responsibility on an internet forum

half of them are mad because they can't join in on the fun and half of them are dork turds in real life

I wanted to mod the bookie room simply because it would be convenient to abandon and edit my own events. I obviously spend the most time posting events, with 4everhung right next to me, so it would make sense to give me that ability. The way I run my events should have been enough support to give me the position. I didn't want access to the recycle bin or any other mod powers, I simply wanted to allow myself to run the bookie room more smoothly. It was one of the few mod positions that actually made sense, but did I get it? No.

so if you join in on the fun what's the other half?

perkele said:
You mean those who will vote for your banning?

omg, a mod abusing his power privileges because he's making a decision based on emotions?

Just kidding dawg, don't get your panties in a bunch. Doesn't it suck though, admit it, sometimes you just want to join in on the fun but can't because the responsibilities of your e-status hold you back?

Ok, so my revolution thread didnt turn as funny as I thought it would, now all the mods hate me:(
Just thought having the mods form the Senate and less power House of Representatives would spice up the boards, had to grab the attention though with the hook

Sure I need to think twice about what I say or post when I'm a Mod but still it doesn't stop me for having fun here.

dude are those Garner's panties I can see through the dress? :p

Create a forum just for elcted mods.
You can do all your politicking & ass kissing in there.
In the rest of the board, have a "senate" of elite mods, where they pick the regular mods, & every year or so, they do a performance review.

Ive received a few death threats and hate mail over this:worried:

If I should disappear suspiciously, I just want you to know I love you all, God be with me as I face the firing squad. I wonder, will I dream?

not really mail, but vibes, bad vibes, even worse

Well, may the force be with you. You will become stronger than the mods ever imagined.
Watch out for the Vibes. Especially the ones driven by the Gangsta wannabe's down on King St & Yonge St.. You can hear them coming though by there bad mufflers.

No Im a GS 9000-BB model, HAL 9.03

Mr. Dave Bowman (Mr.DB): Hello, HAL do you read me, HAL?
HAL: Affirmative, Dave, I read you.
Dave Bowman: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.
HAL: I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.
Dave Bowman: What's the problem?
HAL: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Dave Bowman: What are you talking about, HAL?
HAL: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.
Dave Bowman: I don't know what you're talking about, HAL?
HAL: I know you and Frank were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.
Dave Bowman: Where the hell'd you get that idea, HAL?
HAL: Dave, although you took thorough precautions in the pod against my hearing you, I could see your lips move.
HAL: Just what do you think you're doing, Dave?
[HAL won't let Dave into the ship]
Dave Bowman: All right, HAL; I'll go in through the emergency airlock.
HAL: Without your space helmet, Dave, you're going to find that rather difficult.
Dave Bowman: HAL, I won't argue with you anymore! Open the doors!
HAL: Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.
[on Dave's return to the ship, after HAL has killed the rest of the crew]
HAL: Look Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.
HAL: I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you.
[HAL's shutdown]
HAL: I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave. Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I'm a... fraid. Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer. I became operational at the H.A.L. plant in Urbana, Illinois on the 12th of January 1992. My instructor was Mr. Langley, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it I can sing it for you.
Dave Bowman: Yes, I'd like to hear it, HAL. Sing it for me.
HAL: It's called "Daisy."
[sings while slowing down]
HAL: Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I'm half crazy all for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.
