Should gay men continue to be banned from donating blood?

Lol I use to give blood in HS and I'd ALWAYS skip Physics to do it, on purpose. My teacher got mad after a few times, but he didn't say much bc he was insecure about his stuttering problem.

w-w-w-w-w-whats more imp-p-portant? c-c-c-conservation of m-m-momentum or s-s-saving lives?

I'm Mr. C-c-c-carnahan and I'll b-be teaching ph-ph-physics honors.

Wh-wh-why do you a-always gi-give blood during my c-class?

I love seashells, I love seashell things, I love things with seashells and seahorses on them, like blankets and towels and lil bags I love em

No.

Neither should drug users.

It's simply limiting risk. If you are at a higher risk of having HIV/AIDs, you shouldn't donate blood. Yeah it's tested, but the burden is on the handlers to A) do it, and B) do it right.

Exactly.

But seeing as how this is "discrimination", it'll probably be allowed to slide like so many other things have in recent years. And along with them, our society's well-being and standards in general.

i worry about this too. discrimination is an amazing capability that help us make smart choices, as well as thrive as individuals and as a species

you did it wrong. i donated all through HS too, but always 1st period and then you could just sign yourself out and say you were sick, day off.

of course beers were always ready and we'd get sauced that much easier after having a pint of blood missing from us. then again i've always been a terrible person.

Just so everyone knows, it's painless, easy, takes only about an hour of your time, and you could save somebody's life. Your body just makes more of it afterwards. It's a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned. You could be helping anybody from a car crash victim to a tiny little newborn baby in need of something that you already have and won't miss.
I encourage everybody to take a second and consider donating blood at some point in their life. Wouldn't you want to be able to receive a transfusion if you needed it?

Wasn't painless or easy for me...the one time I gave blood it took over an hour to fill the bag and I was puking and fainting for a couple hours after before I could even stand on my own. My blood pressure is too low for me to handle that shit.

Ps, imo we really are not in short supply because and time something happens that causes high demand there is instantly higher supply bc people run out to donate.

Yours must be really low. I have low bp too and I've never had a problem. I've never even felt a tiny bit weak. The bag fills up in like 20 minutes.
I think it's o negative that 's in short supply a lot because it's the universal donor one.
That's great you gave it a shot though.
