Shingles and Deca

Would Deca help with Neuropathy Shingles. This is the type of shingles that really attacks the joints and nerves rather than making a blister on the skin. Has any body had and tried this with deca?
The only thing my regular MD want to do is loaded me up with cortisone and neurontin. Which I have resisted the cortisone so far.
