Sharp pain in back

I have recently devloped a really sharp paiin my middle back. It falls right next to my left shoulder blade. I can not bring my shoulder baldes back or up and down. Any ideas on what it could be? I have had knots in my back before but nothing like this. The pain is so bad I can hardly breathe when I move wrong. Here is the weird part I have not lifted anything heavy since last Thrusday night and the pain started on Tuesday night. Well ant help woiuld be apperciated.
