September already... What is up this Saturday?

Here are some pics I took yesterday before we went out. Sorry if the pics are not as focused as they should be. Was quick and I did it m'self. LOL

I put a couple of pieces together to demonstrate the versatility that comes from getting fine pieces that are unique while mixing/matching metals and stones. I do not like yellow gold much AT ALL. I prefer to mix silver/white gold/yellow gold/copper, etc etc etc... I find it to be a lot more fun and you get a lot more bang for your buck. It has taken me quite a while to bring all of this together. I was very hesitant at first to start mixing all of these different materials but once I *got my style down* it became fun and I get complimented all the time. Sometimes I have fun with a lotta *bling* (not necessarily expensive but still signature pieces) other times I prefer the understatement of a few simple but more stunning pieces.

Here is one of my favorite slides: It is a nautilus w/amber and savorksi crystal in sterling silver. I have several sterling necklaces from which to suspend it and also a Tifanny platinum necklace but I usually find myself putting it on this Tahitian black pearl strand. The blue/black irridescense of the pearls really makes the warm earthtones of the slide *POP*.. or is it the other way around? LOL

So now I have mixed the pearls and the earth tone slide which means that I am free to wear either the matching tahitian pearl earrings or the pretty amber earrings.

Now my latest acquisition: My nautilus bracelet in sterling. How freaking cool is it that I am wearing these fossils that are goodness knows how old? I LOVE the way each individual nautilus is hand-selected to be EXACTLY matched to balance out the design of the bracelet.

And finally the rings I chose to wear. Didn't want to overdo it with too many bold rings as the bracelet and neckwear were already over the top. I just wanted something to compliment, not over-power.

I have both the rings on the same hand for one pic, just to make it easier to post.

One is a bold piece made of silver, copper with pearls and the other is, of course, my wedding band which is made of sterling silver. We had our jeweler add some gold to the fairy's wings.

Some of these pieces were a bit pricey, true but ya'll would be stunned at how inexpensive/downright affordable some of the others were. I never buy a piece based on price. I buy what I like, what brings me pleasure. None of my pieces are mass-produced... most are quirky, bold and original... much like the owner. LOL
