Scared Shitless!

My wife has to go to the doctor for the 3rd time in 2months. She has 3 lumps in her right breast. The doctor thinks it might be developing more. Theres a good chance that it could be cancer. I don't know what I can do. We had a problem in the past like this but it turned out to be stress caused. It didn't develop like it has now though. Lately she's been real tired and hasn't had any strenght. I'm really starting to freak out.

Jesus. I hope that this is also stress-related brother. I'd tell you I'd pray for her, but I'm about as religious as an old-school communist, so that would be hypocrytical of me. I'll keep her in my thoughts though.:) Good Luck.

Thanks, I understand. I want to pray for her, but its hard, I lost my faith about 10 years ago. With shit like this happening it doesnt make it any easier.

Thanks CURE!
I'm trying to do something for her that will make her happy and not think about it. Is there any suggestions.

I've been there cyber...I hope everything turns out okay for you and your wife. Just be there for her. That is the best thing you can do.

The thing that really scares me is, I work at a job that doesn't pay me shit. So I don't know what I'm going to do if I can't pay for an operation.

What did the other tests show when she went the other times?

Did they say that these could be clogged ducts or small cysts? They can tell when they tested her before for this condition.

I'm sure she is stressed so the "drained" feeling could be stress again.

Good luck. I hope that it's nothing more than clogged ducts for her as well.

Before they were small cysts. I hope that its stress this time as well.

Yeah, those are pretty common in women.

Hey, it's good that she caught WHATEVER this is so soon. It's better to have it caught before it gets any worse!

Stay strong! I pray it'll be those pesky cysts again!

Shitty.
Good luck Cyber, I hope it works out!

Don't stress too much about being able to afford whatever treatment she needs. You can usually arrange payments. I think we paid off my daughter at $20 a month. The main thing to remember is that breast cancer is very treatable if caught early so make sure that the doctors are certain that whatever the lumps are they are benign.

Cyber... if your wife requires treatment/surgery you WILL be able to get it regardless of your ability to pay. State/federal programs exist so that everyone has the ability to get this kind of medical treatment through a number of programs. You need to contact the hospital billing department and make sure you are at the right kind of hospital, though. Not all work with these programs.

Also, most lumps are benign.

good luck.

take heed of what sofageorge says. the odds are in your favor, so don't be too negative.

keep us updated with what happens.

Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to contact the hospital on my next break!

Was there a time limit on the payments? How long were you given to pay it off?

WE were sooooo poor when she was born. Let me think....I had a C section and we did have some insurance but I think we still owed $3000 at least...I know we sent $20 every month for at least 2 maybe 3 years and then we also sent them any income tax refund that we got. Down the road things really turned around for us financially and that may be the case with you as well. I think the policy at our hospital was as long as you are making an effort to pay they will work with you for however long you need them to. Our daughter ended up in the hospital when she was a few months old and there was no problem even though we already owed them a good bit of money.

Breast cancer in her family at that young???
The odds are WAY in her favor. I'm not saying that it is impossible but it is very unlikely. She needs to have it thoroughly checked but she/you should certainly not lose any sleep over this.

I hope your right!! I don't know how would handle it if something went wrong. I'll be sure to have it thoroughly checked, and then get 3rd and 4th opinions.

I just read the statistics a couple of days ago and I can't remember exactly what they are but at her age it would be EXTREMELY RARE. Think she would have a better chance of being hit by lightening but it can happen.

Thanks everyone for the advice and support. Her next appointment in on the 28th. I'll keep ya'll posted!!

The 28th??? DO I hear you saying there is no diagnosis of an existing condition and their won't be till the 28th?

Bro, get your ass to Blue Cross today and sign her up for full medical. At your age you guys are going to get it for about $100-120 a month. Get it now and you will be fully covered BEFORE the 28th.
