Scanning negatives etc

So I was watching TV last night and saw this Scanner by pacific image? that scaned slides and negative so that you can save them digitally on your PC. Anyone ever have this done professionally or own one of these? I have tons of old negatives and stuff from my parents and think it would be cool to back them up.

Just order a photo CD when you get your film prints done at the store.

Usually cost a couple $ more and the prints will already be in Digital
format on a CD and will be good quality for basic printing, sharing etc.

I was thinking more of like 15-20 negatives that are sitting in boxes. Figured it would cost way more to get developed then do myself

Ahh.. OK..

Is it worth buying a flat bed scanner with a negative adaptor(cheapest option)
just for these 15-20 strips ? Or just have them scanned onto a CD at the photo place? Not developed.

Sorry Im retarded - I meant 15-20 years of pictures. I will check out the adapter option for a regular scanner. Did not know those existed.

Yea, you can get a Good flatbed scanner with a Negative adaptor built into it.
Don't get the cheap ones that lay on the bed, but rather one that you insert the film strip into it one at a time.

Hmmm.... i'm gonna have to check this out... I have a TON of nudies of old g-friends
