A guy came into the casino I work in, he is a regular guy, a pakistani bloke who likes to play quite big. He plays about $2,000 US a spin on roulette so over several hours a lot of money can be won or lost. On his way out he is normally full of cheery goodbyes, but he just walked out stony faced and got into his top of the line silver mercedes (with thumb print locks). At first he looked to be on the phone, but was actually head in hands and in tears for a good 30 minutes.

I have never laughed so much.

Ditto. The first time I ever cried in front of any of my friends was the day my granny died. Shit, I'm about to cry right now just thinking of her. Video poker can be profitable. Some go in as 4-7 person teams and everyone plays together and splits the winnings evenly. You can also do this by yourself. Basically you are playing until you hit a Royal Flush (1 in 40000 odds on a Jacks or Better machine) or some four of a kinds. It boils down to playing almost perfectly and waiting. You might lose $30 an hour until you hit, then you get up and leave. Vegas has messed with pay tables on these machines so you cant make much more than $5-20/hr anymore, but in the Midwest and other areas it can be more profitable.

Card counting made BlackJack winable but automated card shufflers have gotten so advanced they are making it virtually impossible (earlier machines could still be counted). Card counters/pros have no recourse against this except boycotting casinos that use them.

You can win at craps as well if you have good dice control, throw the same way every time, dont act a fool, etc. There are lots of articles on the net about dice setting.
