Sandbag work

bblazer

Banned
I was just wondering if anyone here has much experience in sandbag work. I have thrown around some 300 lb'ers as part of some SM training, but what I am talking about are the ones from 45-70 lbs and the associated workouts.

The reason I am looking at this is because as a PLer since ABBA was a hit band, I have never really build a lot of muscle endurance, and that is something I would like to improve on while still retaining my main strength and explosiveness.

Thanks for any input.

I have no experience with sandbags. I know the Diesel Crew has some good info on sandbag training.

Do you have access to KBs? They would fit the bill imo. The guys I used to train with were really into them.

I've been training with a bodybuilder friend on mine recently doing all super high rep stuff and it is killing me but about 3 weeks later now i am not getting tired from these crazy workouts.

Hi!

Thats`s what I would also recommand.

Sandbag-Work as finisher:
--> High Reps: Pull your Sandbag from the ceiling on a plattform above belly-height. Put it down. Repeat it for 99 more reps.
In Brook Kubiks "Dinosaur Training" are more examples of including Sandbag-work into your routines.

Sandbag training has been around forever and there's a reason why... it's becuase it's a unique workout that stimulates muscles tradional training does not.
