Running with an iPod...

When I go running outside I like to take my iPod with me, but I hate carrying things as I run and I don't like wearing any kind of bag (fussy aren't I :))

Have any of you ever tried the things that strap the ipod to your arm? They are like an elastic band that goes around your arm and the ipod fits in it somehow. I'm just wondering if they actually stay in place or if they slide around as you run, because I know that'll annoy me and I don't want to order one if they move lots.

I'm very irritable hehe, maybe I should just run without the ipod!

I have heard that they run big--the armband--that was from one guy though--I have the hook on to the waist--I like it and run with it.

I think I would prefer the clip too. I'm weird about things feeling "even". ex: my socks have to be the same height, I can't have one shoe tighter than the other...that kind of thing. I think the armband would drive me nuts. I see a lot of people using them though - so they must work well.

I use the clip / arm band / and just hold it .. all depends on what I'm doing

Running / Sprinting etc.

SG I am so with you on the "even" thing ... it's bizzare :)

Sometimes I NEED something in my hand when I run ... & I have the bigger POD not the babies these days, but still on the arm it annoys my, but works during sprinting & slipping ... :)

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!Lol. I have the same thing(about needing to feel "even". I can't even stand to carry things in my pockets b/c of it. Maybe a couple of bucks or my ID but if it's something that adds weight or a different feeling to one side of my body than the other.... It's totally nutz.

I originally bought the little Shuffle because it comes w/ the lanyard, but I sweat so hard that it gets soaked and eventually disgusting. I bought the little clippy thing for it & it works fine. The armband thing - when I get going I usually get a megafuckingsickpump in my biceps and cannot deal w/ shit on them when they are trying to contract. Not to mention the armband thing would then get disgusting from sweat as well.

I own a different type of mp3 player that I keep on my arm via a velcro strap, and I have sensitive skin, so sometimes I have issues with the sweaty band + my skin reacting together the wrong way. Also, if you are doing cardio and it slips on the velcro just a little bit... it might start to scratch your arm up too. I find myself pulling my band up higher on my bicep the sweatier I get.

I can deal with it... but I think the clip sounds like a great idea! Try that out. :D

OMG

I am the same way...
I have to have a watch and a braclet on the other wrist.

I have a pod - the arm band drove me nuts.
I just hold mine.

I saw the Nano in person the other day.... I bet that would clip well

I'm beyond fussy . . . I could clip it to my waistband, but my running trousers are quite flimsy and the weight of it would probably pull them down. Heaven forbid you suggest for me to buy new running trousers though, can't be doing something like that hehe :)

I think I'm just weird.

I think I might try duct taping it to my body, it won't move then!

Owww! :eek2:

Although THAT would be a site to see -- a woman running down the street with a large wad of duct tape and this little iPod glued to her side. :FRlol:

And I'm right there with you about buying new shorts/pants! Duct tape is cheaper anyhow! :D
