Generally speaking Rumsfeld seems to be one of the most candid fellows in the Bush administration. From what I understand of his history, he's making the same mistakes still here, (abrasive, brash behavior towards others) that may have limited his political career back in the 70s. I like Rumsfeld as a person even if I don't agree with all his strategies.

I like Rumsfeld as a person even if I don't agree with all his strategies.

I also like his candor and his willingness to make bold changes. Also the fact that he is a 70+ year-old private millionaire, former CEO and has been the SecDef before, he pretty much doesn't have anything to prove.

Politically though, I think he has become a liability to Bush, so he needs to go. He can bow out gracefully since the first term is almost over.
