Asscrack made the decision to start a rapid attack on personal freedoms. These laws have been on the books for over 50 years in some cases, funny how no other US Attorney General decided to make unused drug parphenelia a personal crusade.

there have been press confrences before about these raids on shops. drug zsars and att gens have said the same thing. why it make such an impression on you only when a republican is in office is a fairly easy guess.

p.s. (though i doubt you will even notice) all of these sites were shut down for (a)selling to minors(b)blatently advertising the pipes for marijuana use(which any herb smoker knows is illegal)(c)selling stealth pipes to states that have outlawed them.

I've read quite a bit about the drug war, especially the aspect of it on the other side of the river... these guys can't put a dent in the cocaine trade, so they resort to pointless endeavors like this....as if this is going to accomplish ANYTHING at all. So, there's a shortage of pipes for weed? Use rolling papers.... so there's a shortage of glass pipes for meth or crack? Clean out a light bulb...

did they do it solely because they couldnt put a dent in the coke trade? thats one way of looking at it. i think its more likely that this is there way of shutting down head shops that wont follow the rules. i.e. selling to minors, advertising pipes as marijuana smoking devices, selling them to states that dont allow water pipes. its an every now and then type of thing.

as ive stated before, this is done every couple of years but no one has really seemed to care until a repub is in office.

my local head shop owner is in no danger since he follows the rules that have been on the books for years.. never been raided once in 10 years!
