You pictured right, Merm….you’ll have to tell me if it’s accurate when we meet up. The peeing is still annoying. I got an appointment with a Urologist at the end of the month so we’ll see what solution he comes up with.

What a sweet message, ILoveDance! :rose: I'm happy to hear I could provide some inspiration and motivation.

It hasn't been the easiest road for me...I had to learn from a lot of trial and error. But I've made a lot more progress since I dropped my weekly cheat meal, got serious about consistent workouts and realized that clean eating and a glamourous lifestyle don't mix. Only Paris and Lindsey can gulp down martinis every night and still stay rail thin.

ps - I am envious of the homemade soya bean milk you mention in your log. Unless I go to Chinatown here, I can't get any of that.

Hiya Diva-Roo! :bigkiss:

I tried some soy milk this evening and with a shot of vanilla extract & some splenda....it was pretty good! :FRlol:

I bought a small container of a generic brand to try ($1.79) and if it likes me then I'll start buying a better brand. (probably Silk)

LOL and until I get that huge container of chocolate whey used up, I'll be making whey shakes with soy milk. :qt:

I’m glad to hear the soy milk wasn’t too awful, Que. Did you buy plain in the generic brand? If so, I definitely think you’ll like the vanilla flavored Silk brand, especially with Splenda added. But see how your system reacts. Not everyone adjusts well to soy.

My guy is visiting this weekend :elephant: so I’ve been off-program and offline for the rest of the weekend. This is my first planned reward for May. I have purposefully been eating at the low end of my calorie range to accommodate for two of these weekends this month. I’m hoping the zig-zag in calories will shock my system.

Hey RT! How were u enjoy the weekend?

OK, Now, I decide to drop my weekly cheat meal. I know that isn't easy, but changing the weekly cheat meal into a monthly one like u did is a good start for me!

Did you guys do anything fun?
I unfortunately have to give away what I actually ate/drank while off program, but we had a champagne lunch on Sat afternoon in Rittenhouse Square followed by dinner that night at one of my favorite Asian Fusion restaurants, Buddakan. The shrimp pad thai was so yummy! :chomp: We then had hit a few trendy bars in Old City for :martini:. But hey, it was a planned cheat and I had FUN ;)

A tad better ...but still on the tired and achy side. Thanks for asking, Fly Girl! :rose: I did make it up at 5:45am to sleep walk to the gym again, but felt like I could only give my spinning class 75% instead of the usual 100%. But on the up side, at least I got out of bed for morning cardio instead of sleeping in an extra 2 hrs.

I'm seeing my chiropractor this evening to get adjusted so I'm hoping that will help with some of the aches and soreness.

I know I don't come close to training like some of the ladies here, but am wondering if I'm being hit by overtraining syndrome and if my body is just spent?

I’m traveling tomorrow so I had to make sure I got to a Cingular store to get a replacement. Of course, I didn’t have phone insurance so basically they were kind enough to give me a dinky loaner. Was tired and hungry by the time all this was resolved, especially since I had to beat traffic to get there before the store closed after work :worried:

Yummy! How do u cook it?

Actually, the lite tofu I buy here is pre-packaged and pre-cooked already. I just get the silky soft textured kind that is meant for desserts and shakes. Do you have access to that? I would imagine any pre-packaged or boiled/steamed tofu can be put through the blender with strawberries to get a similar effect.

Day off! I’m heading out today to Chicago for a weekend getaway. :dance2: I’m hanging out with my brother and friends who I haven’t seen in a while. So I’m going to be off program for the rest of the weekend and also give my body some rest from working out. I know I will be bloated to high heavens when I get back after all the :martini: and :RADAR but hopefully it’ll be worth it!

I’ll get right back to my workouts and clean eating on Monday. I feel like I really need this break.

Scale weight: 116.5lbs

9am:
Blackberry protein waffles
- ½ cup blended oatmeal
- ½ cup blackberries
- ½ cup egg whites
- 1 scoop vanilla whey

Travel foods:
Cliff /South Beach meal replacement bars, Vanilla soy milk cartons, almonds, apples

<cheat meal period begins>
:elephant: :arty:  :elephant:

Have a great weekend everyone!

I did....and I had enough :martini: for the all the ladies on here. . I've eaten everything I wanted and am totally partied out  :velvett:
I'm actually happy to be back home and get back on track.

One realization I came to is I need to develop good in-between eating habits. I know how to eat clean and I know how to eat free-for-all cheat meals, but I don't know how to go to a restaurant and order a decent sized portion meal.
That is something I need to work on.

Have a great day too, Gym Gurl!

GREAT realization, too. Not easy...but you can definitely get the job done.

For me, I think it’s my macro split at 40% carbs that lets me eat between 1200-1300 cals and still feel good. Plus don’t forget I also do have my off-program fixes every so often that tends to even everything out. I’m sure your body will slowly adjust as well – I’ve had those days when I wonder if I should be driving either!! :goof:

True!!! Yeah I am trying to remember why I'm doing this and enjoy it while it's happening!

Rooney, do you think that the off days allow you to eat so low the rest of the week without seeing any negatives from eating so little and training so hard?

I think so! Put it this way...I can now get away with having off days every 2-3 weeks because I eat well and train hard all the other time. Also, even though it seems like I'm eating so low, it's still 10-12 x my bodyweight and I never go below 1200 cals. It seems to be working so far and this is what it took for me to finally drop weight. But I was thinking of doing some carb cycling in a few weeks just to shake everything up a bit. I don’t want my body to get too used to anything.

I'm curious because I'm thinking of trying the same sort of approach.

How is your energy on this plan?

My energy level is great on this plan! I attribute it to the 40% carbs though more than my calorie level. It also took a while to figure out what combo of foods kept me full. I still keep my complex carb levels on the low side during the week and add about 50-60g to my carb intake with fruit and veggies.

pre-made or ready to drink (rtd)? Isopure has a couple of really tasty rtd's! :p

It was a rtd...apple melon flavor and very tasty indeed. :D Unfortunately my gym charges $3.50 for a 20oz bottle so it's not the most economical PWO shake. I just had it today because of my flat tire and not being able to come home right away to drink my normal home-made ON whey shake.

Hey Sky! Nice to see you logging again....I look forward to catching up with your progress. As for me, I've been good with logging but have had my ups and downs. Right now, I'm still working on building muscle and reshaping my lower body.

This has turned into a very crappy day. The guy that I’ve been dating in Miami told me he’s having doubts about his feelings and needs time to think everything through. It caught me totally off-guard because he hadn’t given me any indication prior. Sigh! This ALWAYS happens to be just as I start getting comfortable in a relationship...it's like the minute they realize I like them, they don't like me back :( :bawling:
I also seem to have ostracized my entire friend circle by not going out to drink or eat lately so I don't have my local support system anymore.
I'm so sad right now. :bawling::bawling::bawling:

Girl... Believe me.... I know this one all to well!!! Just remember that you are number one. It's better off to find out now then spend years' with someone and find out after kids, and a marriage. Focus on you! I don't understand the whole introduction thing and then just break apart either. If I can get my mind dimmented enough and put myself in his shoes I would say, He was getting scared at the thought of settling with one girl, He has figured out he likes being a loner, single, and mingling with lots of girls, or he has his eyes on another prospect that he feels is a better match, Or a mix of all the above, or maybe his co-workers or family thought that you weren't the 'right' one, etc... etc...
You can sit here and try and figure out why.... but I have found that's it much easier to just not ask why and leave it up to fate and that it was just not meant to be. I've been told in the past 3 months by 2 different guys the following: "We would make great kids together and you are an awesome person", and the other was "I know I'll kick myself down the road and anyone would be enthralled to call you their girl, but I still haven't gotten the single side of me full-filled." So get pissed, take it to the gym, and then just keep pouring the effort into yourself and continue being who you are... not what everyone else forms you into. You are a great girl and one day you and I will both find what we are after... whatever that is ? :worried:

Thanks, girls! Your words mean a LOT to me :bigkiss: :rose:

It hasn’t been an easy day so far. I was looking forward to starting back up with my Plyo sessions, but couldn’t sleep last night. I tossed and turned and when the alarm went off this morning, I was nauseated and had a headache. I figured I was entitled to take the morning off and slept till 8am. That was probably a good move. But now I look down to find out I mistakenly wore my brown shoes with my black dress instead of my black ones….my head isn’t here entirely and while yesterday I wished I was around people, today, I wish I was still in my bed so I can cry under the covers.

I went back to read my log and saw my entry about my first trip about him on page 12. It’s funny that he went through all the trouble to win me back successfully after that. I only posted about him again here when I felt comfortable and secure two months later. I just feel so blindsided. I forgot to protect myself this time around as I normally do.

But Tre, your advice is right on the mark. I’ll never know why and right now, I have to focus on me. I’ll be throwing myself into this clean eating and working out lifestyle to keep myself occupied, but have to figure out how to incorporate my friends into it. I didn’t initially feel comfortable calling them since I haven’t been out lately, but they have been awesome with listening to me and making me feel better in the last day. I realize there has to be a way to lead a complete life with a social aspect and still be able to achieve my fitness goals.

Sorry for all the rambling! But hey, I'm going to read this entry in my journal one day in the future and think about how far I've come along since ;)

It's all about learning what's important in life.
At least you wore two of the same shoe... I wore a black and a brown shoe one day.... We all make silly mistakes. Just smile. Even if you have to fake it... people will smile at you because I have found it hard to frown at someone smiling... It's a chain reaction! ;)

:rose:

I can't give you any better words than you've already gotten. You're an amazing woman...let it be his loss. If nothing else, you had fun with him during the time that you were together. :)

:lmao: @ the shoes. We have to laugh at ourselves to keep from crying. Take care of yourself, Rooney. And definitely laugh at the little things gone wrong...it helps!

:bigkiss:

Thanks so much, ladies! :rose: :rose: :rose: Your words mean so much to me as I sit here at work, hold back the tears and try to go about my day like everything is okay.

And yes, Fly and Tre, I will try to smile and laugh as much as possible. That's great advice :)

SBT, you are so sweet! :rose: Yes, my day did get better as it went on. I even laughed a little by the end.

I confided what happened to a co-worker and felt much better after letting it out. I no longer felt I had to put on a facade all day at work. He also told me how much he’s seen me grow in the last year as a person and that made me feel good. And yes, I did smile then. :)

What kind of car you looking at? I hate buying anything over $100 where people make commission. It drives me nuts!!!!
I have another 1.5 years before I have to go through that again!

Oh boy! Sorry!

When I looked into leasing my truck I asked the guy what the money factor was & he just completely deflated.... :lmao:

I’m in better spirits today, girls…definitely doing a lot better than this past weekend! Thanks for checking in on me :bigkiss: I know I will eventually be fine, but it just takes some time unfortunately.

No car deal after all even though I spent another 2 hrs at the dealership today. Jens, I thought I could turn their month end desperation to meet quota to strike a good deal for myself.

Me too, Tre! I am looking at the BMW 3-series. The 2007 models are coming in Sept so they’re starting to try to get rid of the 2006 ones. But we just couldn’t close the gap between what I wanted to pay and the “best offer” the dealership put out, so I just got up and left. I figure if I can’t get the price I want, I may as well get a custom ordered 2007 model instead of just taking what’s on the lot now. I just will have to wait a few more months.

I'll try to send some luck your way Rooney!

You're right - I do need to start logging again, but life is just so hectic right now with a new house, new car and finally getting my dogs back and settled. I can't keep any consistency at all, to anything... A comp next May should get me back on track, but until then I'm afraid it's hit and miss.

Still keeping up with everyone's journal every day - except my own...

I worked with Benz's....but Beemer's shouldn't be too different.......the 2007's usually come out in September....so if you can wait, maybe check back with them in a month or so cuz then they may want to strike a better deal to REALLY get the 2006's off the lots.....

If you can get the deal you want, may be worth taking an '06......

I like BMW's also.... but my dad works for GM so I try to support him and the All American thing. Then again what is really American any more

:wavey:

Good luck with the continued car shopping, RT! I am quite shocked that you couldn't get a month end deal! I looked at the 3 series when I was buying a car as well, but BMW dealers tend to not want to knock down prices AT ALL. In my opinion, if they are that proud of their cars...they can keep them! :)

Hope you're having a good one!

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking too, Jens. I figure I'll try back in July/Aug again for the 2006 and if not, I'll just go with the 2007. I'll keep everyone posted.

Fly, what did you end up getting instead? My last 2 cars have both been bmws and I've liked 'em.
