I woke up to do some push-ups and crunches this morning. Just five mins....but it does get the blood rushing up to my head and wakes me up! Made me feel much better after last night's not so great conversation with my mom and I'm totally re-set for a good day now :D
Ahhh I hope everything worked out!! :rose:

Thanks for your kind words, ladies!

Things will never work out with the parents and me. I just have to accept the situation for what it is. As they say, you don't get to pick your family. And we live halfway around the world from each other, so the distance has been good for me.

This is what happened:
I sent my mom a gift for her birthday - two sarees (indian clothing) that I did put effort into picking making sure they were age appropriate and colors she would like. Instead of a simple thank you or even no comment, she instead told me they were so ugly and cheap looking, they would be unwearable even by the villagers in India. And she kept going off on how awful they were for another five mins, even after I told her if she didn't like it that she could re-gift it or donate it. I simply had to end the conversation and get off the phone. My blood pressure was off the charts. I haven't talked to her in 3 weeks and this is what she has to say. I hate to say it but I’ve come to realize in my old age that my mom just isn’t a very nice person. Makes me wonder how I even turned out semi-normal at times. I am calmer today although still ticked off. If I didn’t send a gift, that would make me the most ungrateful daughter that ever lived, so there is simply no winning! :redhot::redhot::redhot:

Oh boy! Whew! Sounds like my parents.......Sorry to hear your nice gesture went unappreciated.... :(

Ugh. It sucks when you are in a lose-lose situation like that. I would rather give my mom "ugly sarees" than be the worst daughter on earth, though. :)

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. :rose: Take the rest of your frustrations out at the gym! ;)

Thanks ladies for understanding as always :rose::heart:

WOW at least you did the right thing, and realize who is at fault here. Does your dad act the same way?! That was still really a very thoughtful thing you did. Sounds like she is spoiled as well....
It's o.k. you have us :rose:

No chance for cancer now but if not monitored properly, it could develop down the road :worried: But until reason given to worry, I'm not going to stress. I couldn't schedule follow-up tests till early Feb, so I'll just proceed with life as always.

1 cup brown rice with 1/2 tbsp flax

- 2 cups romaine, ½ cup cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, onions
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar, 2 tbsp red wine vinegar as dressing

5pm:

7pm: Upper Body - all to failure!

Chest (15 chest press, 15 pushups & 15 chest press)
4 sets with 2 sets using 20lb dbs and 2 sets using 15lb dbs

Back (12 stiff-arm pulldown, 12 seated lat rows)
4 sets with 50lbs/65lbs, 50lbs/60lbs, 45lbs/55lbs, 42.5lbs/55lbs

Shoulders (10 shoulder press, 10 lat raises, 10 shoulder press)
4 sets with 1 set with 20lb dbs/5lb dbs, 2 sets with 15lb dbs/5lb dbs & 1 set with 12lb dbs/5lb dbs

Oh no, Roony! You've had such a hard week. Try not to worry, as hard as that may be. We're all here for you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the best. :friends:

Thanks all! I really am not going to fret about it till I go for the tests in early Feb, get results and find out what the deal is. I did some reading online and the better case scenarios are all manageable.

Will2BLean, yes, it has been a stressful week somewhat. I have to laugh a little because I thought if I gave up alcohol & men in 2007, life would be trouble-free. But apparently that's not the case necessarily :FRlol:

Whoa.
Sounds familiar.

For what it is worth, I have mostly embraced being the "ungrateful daughter" because you just can not win - there is no middle ground and that's ok.

It's terribly negative and not to mention emotionally exhausting to trying to make your family into something that it is not. Just realize the differences, understand what you want your family to be like and make peace with what is so your relationship with your parents and then you can make success out of what will become of your future.

Hello m'dear! :wavey::bigkiss:

Lemme start by saying, OMG I love you!

I can't believe what your mother said to you! But then again... I CAN because that is the EXACT SAME SHIT my mom pulls on me word-for-word!

Doesn't it seem like our mothers have this super-secret conference of negative-nelly-awful-things to say to us whenever they want?

I'm sorry you're going through a rough patch, but you are absolutely right -- you CANNOT change her, but you CAN (and will) change how you react to it. It's taking me a longggggg time, but step one was realizing that it really ISN'T you or what you're doing. To any other mother, you'd be the perfect daughter to be proud of.

Second -- KILLER dress for NYE! Absolutely stunning! And your diet is so fun to read! I feel like mine is so boring sometimes but bison and buffalo and odd poultry -- OH MY! :D Just really great to see another foodie like me.

Mad love for you, sister! And convince me I should stop being a wussy and finally go try a spinning class. I was just telling Duck that I saw one starting today when I was at the gym and I didn't run in there because I was too afraid of looking dumb because I was new. Plus it looked like it was right about to start... and it was crowded... but these are all excuses. Argh! :qt:

Loved the long weekend and am sad it's over. I did get a really awesome full body massage today though. The salon messed up my appointment so they threw in some hot stones too. Thanks, W2BL! I hadn’t had a hot stones massage till yesterday. Now I’ve experienced the good life, I’m scared I won’t be able to go back.

Tried out indoor rock climbing today for the first time. It was a LOT of fun - so exhilirating when I finished my first climb to see how far I was up. I only did two climbs though because it's tough to get belayers. It's an activity that requires a partner. I like to operate solo, so that was the part I wasn't thrilled about. I have a feeling my upper body is going to be sore though just from the two climbs....

8am:
1/2 cup oatmeal mixed with:
1 chopped apple, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, pumpkin pie spice, stevia

9:30am
16 oz hazelnut coffee, Stevia

10am:
4 oz baked turkey breast with lemon pepper with 1 cup green beans & 2 tbsp almonds

12:15pm:
4oz lean ground turkey, 3 cups oriental veggies, 1/2 cup brown rice

2:30pm:
4 oz baked chicken breast with 5 brussel sprouts & 5 oz sweet potato

5:30pm
4 oz trout
large salad (2 cups romaine, 1/2 cup tomatoes, celery, onions) with 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar, 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar & 1 tbsp flax oil

8pm:
Rock Climbing - 2 climbs

9:30pm:
1/2 cup cc with 2 tbsp walnuts & 1/2 tbsp s/f choc jello pudding mix, 6 celery sticks

Totals: 1485 cals (135g carbs, 150g protein, 31.5g fat)

My upper body killed the first few times. It was a lot in the forearms and hands from hanging onto the wall. I found using your legs as much as possible was the best!!
I can definitely see why climbers usually have well defined upper bods though ;)

My #@$%&$# laptop has crashed again! :( So I am keeping track of my logs off-line and will post them later. I HATE computer problems :redhot:

Wow, your diet is unbelieveable! Do you prepare all that food ahead of time and portion it off for the week? I only have to pack ONE meal a day to eat at work and it's just ridiculous how much work cooking on Sunday for all week is! Go you! :rose:

Hey girl! :wavey: Thanks for stopping by. I pack two meals to work and I just make them the night before. I have mastered the art of quick cooking (wok stir-fry, baking or broiling with the toaster oven) and smart buying (pre-cooked frozen brown rice, pre-sliced veggies), so everything else I just make before I'm ready to eat. It's been working out well so far and I love to eat hot cooked meals :)

Have a great Tuesday! :rose:

Hey Jens! :wavey: I just got my laptop back tonight....yay!! :elephant:

Anyway, I'm back from Camp Savage where I had a great time. I'm a true Savage Girl now (I even bought the full outfit!). I keep seeing all they've done with their girls and it's so very motivating.

However, I also think I'm a bit tired of all this dedicated logging. I've got to the point where I can maintain at abt 15% bf or less, eat clean without thinking twice about it and train without missing a workout. So I think I'm going to close out my 2006 log and take some time off. Not having my laptop for a week has shown me exactly how much open time I could have if I wasn't online all the friggin' time!! But l'll still frequent here and post of course.

TGIF everyone :)

I am SO with you on the logging! I stopped logging my food for that reason too -- I feel like I've seen every possible combination for a few months now and I know what to order when I go out and what to stay away from. As long as I know the size of my lunch and know I have the room for my dinners at night, I can handle anything. The only day that is totally unique is Saturday, which is cheat and doesn't matter anyway.

Don't be a stranger!!! :)

Hey girls! :wavey: I'm still here although not as much. Work has got really busy so I don't have as much time to get online anymore, but I do read everyone's logs when I can. Here's a pic of me from yesterday - I tried on a figure suit at the gym because my trainer wanted me to show some girl my body as his client. Yeah, it was heavily padded so I look like Dolly Parton :D
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d143/ap5591/IMG_1569.jpg

Still training hard and lifting heavier, although it's probably not comparable to what a lot of you on here are doing. But I'm happy with my progress and my body is slowly reshaping to my liking.

It's nice to be missed :rose:

Whooo!! Abages!! Looking very good there girlie!! Thought of you with all those hills & the ice storm.....it's a mess down here.....

Holy freakin' HOTTIE! You look GREAT! Jealous! :D

Are you going to the Arnold? I can't remember! I'm just happy you are checking in with us. :rose:

:elephant: 6 DAYS!!! :elephant:
You have to go... you have to go... you're going, right? I'm sure you are because I'm making you. :D

I'm going, I'm going!!! I get into Columbus on Thurs night so I can see the amateurs at 9am on Friday. I'll be there through Sunday evening, so we'll definitely all catch up. I'll PM you my cell #...Bunny & Duckie should already have it, I think.

Personal update: still eating clean & training hard....accomplishment of the day: we had a push-up challenge at my boot camp class today and I beat out everyone (boys, girls and the instructor) by doing 102!!! :dance2: I didn't even know I could do that many and am convinced I could squeezed out another 10 or so more if I had someone still challenging me. But the second place winner had stopped at 80, so it was just me counting and everyone staring, so I just gave in a tad before true failure. I'm going for 120 from now :D

That's a kickass story! :garza: Totally love it.

Cannot wait to see you!!! And who are these said 'Savage peeps'?

Thanks for the kudos on the push-ups. It's always nice to surprise yourself with your own strength as all you PR girls know :D And everyone clapped when I was done!

I follow Cathy Savage's program now...and there'll be a bunch of Savage girls who will be there that weekend. Some to compete, some to support so I have quite a few friends to meet up with - Bunny calls 'em my Savage peeps because she is just cute like that.
