Reusing a dart

This might sound really stupid but anyone ever heard of re-using a dart say I injected tuesday and need to inject again saturday? Not sharing just using one that I used a few days ago.
 
fuck no bro,re using pins or 'darts' lol as you call them is entirely fucked up

your risk of getting an abscess or infection isn't worth the risk of a goddamned pin that only costs a few cents in the first place.think about if you have to get that fucking abscess drained the money that it's going to cost you and the time lost training all because you wanted to save a few cents.
 
There is absolutely no excuse to ever "re-use" a dart.

They are cheap and easy to get. Always use new ones. You should even draw with a separate needle than you use to shoot with.
 
Don't do it!! even if you don't get sick or abcess its just going to hurt like hell. I've even heard you can damage the area using a dull needle and therefore you won't be able to absorb as much. Go to CVS or something.
 
dont do it. you'll get an infection and they'll have to cut your legs off. Then again at least you'll have big arms to help you get around. Plus you will have saved a dollar on the cost of a pin

there so cheap and readily available no need to ever reuse one.
 
Damn fellas I was really talking about sterilizing the fucker before sticking it back in. I don't have the luxury of being able to go to walgreens and not get the third degree by the 70 yr old bitch behind the counter. I think you guys need some valium or is it just the roid rage?

getpinz.com is cheap and fast, no 70yr old ladies...stop asking stupid questions. And how the fuck you going to sterilze the needles? Please tell.
 
Before you guys flame me, let me preface by saying I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE BUT.....In a desperate situation you can soak the needle in 91% Isopropyl alcohol for a few minutes, let it air-dry and the damn thing will be sterile (Okay...At least bacteriostatic) again. This is the usual medical practice in 3rd world countries and was the way we did it before disposables became vogue.

lol ive reused needles as much as 5 times ive been juicing for over 4 years i just stick them in rubbing alcholol for a lil while....never rever gotten an infection...i NEVER share them but i always reuse them and never ever had a problem
 
Thanks for the two guys that actually gave some input not just an ignorant opinion. From high school science I know that alcohol and a lighter would sterilize a needle, but I didn't know if anyone had tried it and/or if it worked.

Yes the alcohol will work. You have to draw it into the needle and squirt it out a few times though. But seriously just grab your sack and walk into Walgreens and ask for 23 gauge 1.5 needles with syringes. They never ask anything. It's cheap and worth saving yourself from necrotic muscle tissue.
 
Actually it's not that dumb a question. Where I live in California NO PLACE will sell you any syringes or needles without a prescription and documented need. I get guys all the time telling me its harder to get syringes than gear in this place. They don't want to order online bc they are afraid packages mailed to their houses will be intercepted by girlfriends, wives, etc.

No it does not truley sterilize the needle. Yes it cleans it more than soap and water. Think about this. you hold a lighter up to it, to any thin piece of metal it will change the shape of the needle and can actually do more damage going in. Barbs form on the end.

how long do you think you have to hold it under the fire to make it sterile. the only way to get a needle sterile is to buy more.

yeah same in other states as well!! where I've been the last few years has a real big meth problem an it's a bitch to get needles they aren't illegal just some of the folks behind the counter just say they can't do it or I have to give them some bullshit story before they again say no or hesitantly relent while giving me a "poor dopehead stare" I've had to drive to several different shops on occasion before finding somebody on duty that would just load me up!! and I by no means look like a drug addict!!

but that it is not to say that I agree with re-using needles... should never be practiced!!

I'm no genius, Troublesome, just better informed than most. In a recent study published (Am J Public Health 2001; 91:636-638) over documented reuse of needles in a two-year period, the risk of infection was 1 in 1 million or less for a single needle stick. I would say that is pretty low.

One time I found a syringe w/ needle in a sewer that was wrapped up in a used condom next to a dildo, and I used it to shoot my test w/o probs...

but seriously, we all know it's best to use a new one each time, but in reality, if you can keep it in sanitary conditions and sterilize it w/ rubbing alcohol for a couple mins then you can re-use it 2 or 3 times with the chances of getting an abscess as minimal. The main thing is the point gets dull, and after a while it just really is no good to use anymore at all because although you can't really see it with the naked eye, if you magnified the needle then you could tell that the shape becomes grosely disfigured (curved and dull)... usually the stories I hear about people getting an abscess is either from unsterile gear or using a syringe/needle that has been in totally unsanitary conditions (like rolling around in the trunk of a car without the needle cover on for 3 days). I know people who have re-used their needles like 10times no probs (and yes I called them a stupid fuck to their face)... obviously, as has already been stated, if you want to be 100% safe, then don't ever re-use a needle (or gear for that matter), but the whole thing about if you re-use a needle then you will prob get an abscess is BS and the risks in general are overblown IMO.

well when I did my first cycle I only had 6 pins lol.but still its way better to use a deferent one every time...we dont want to start advocating people can just keep reusing.better to just nip it in the bud and tell them no. :)

I agree, but at the same time I think it is best to be 100% honest as to the risks (and not present them in a biased way or a way that blows them out of proportion) and let the individual decide for theirself if they want to take the risk or not... I do not agree when people start saying "I know what is best and therefore I will come across in a way to ensure they agree with me and do as I say," instead of presenting the facts and perhaps some advice (kept seperate from the facts) and allow the individual to make the choice for theirself. People who feel like they know better and try to impose their will on others through deceit, minipulation, and/or force are very wrong for doing that IMO. Same goes for why I prefer smaller goverment and less regulation vs. big government and more regulation, why I prefer tolerance over bigotry, spirituality over religion, etc., etc. I know you were not doing that needto, but I am just saying. :)

yea, I was really trying to direct that to the responses which centered around the words "no," "dumbfuck," and "abscess." i guess a lot of that prob is just ignorance tho... but for those who kno better.

All the infection hyberbole is a little unrealistic.


If you draw a syringe full of 91% isopropyl alcohol, leave it in 5 seconds, slowly expel it, then thoroughly swab the outside of of it with the same, there's not going to be any bacteria left in that needle.


I do agree the cost savings isnt worth it, and just using new needles everytime is more foolproof than attempting to sterilize old ones.
 
Only re-use it if you are injecting into your left nut. WTF, are you some meth head, you don't have a quarter to buy another pin? Sterile pins are cheap.

Abscess or spend a quarter? Abscess or spend a quarter? Abscess or spend a quarter? Abscess or spend a quarter?

Heads or Tails? Fuck it, don't fllip the coin, buy a new pin, shit-for-brains.

pins are so cheap it doesn't make sense to re-use. yOu put yourself at risk for a variety of complications that can easily be avoided. Use a new pin EACH TIME!!!

thats funny dude. yea your more informed than others. LMAO..... the article speaks of being infected with hep b hep c and HIV. it does not refer to getting MRSA, or an abscess. Read before you post bro

i would soak it in rubbing alcahol for 30min, then rince off with water, then put it in fridge.
 
Fuck, I use 2 darts for every inject; 1 to draw through the rubber on the multi-use vial and one to stick.

Just once I was short on needles and had to use the same one to draw and to stick. Using a dull needle is much more painful than using a fresh one. That alone would convince me never to reuse a dart.

Order from getpinz or innovative research or wherever. If you're afraind your parents or someone else will intercept the package, pay the $50/yr to rent a PO box and you can receive pins and ancillaries worry free.

Dude, you need to read Sun Tzu lest you get in a pissing contest with a fire hose. There ARE NO double-blind studies on this topic. The point was the risk is low. This article is frequently quoted in medical university morbidity and mortality rounds of being indicative of that point.

If all you needed was alcohol and a lighter to sterilize with then why would the manufactory and hospitals spend hundred thousands on autoclaves and ethylene oxide gas sterilization? Would you feel comfortable having surgery with instruments that were cleaned with alcohol and a lighter? No it does not sterilize it only cleans it.

Don't reuse needles it is not worth it.

rinsing with water after all that would defeat the purpose.

and perp is right there are three levels:

clean -- removal of dirt and particles
sanitized -- kills 99% of germs
sterile -- kills ALL germs, 100%

best you can hope for is sanitized.

How much would sodium hypochlorite and isopropyl alcohol cost together?

At www.getpinz.com it only costs around $10.00 for a 50 count of

Terumo 25 G X 1" Syringe with Needle, 3CC. Latex free. That's pretty

damn cheap . . . Plus it is sterile to begin with and the needles aren't dull.

Dullness can be a problem if a needle is reused over and over again.

Sterilization isn't the only thing people should worry about. Even if they

can sterilize it 99.9% there are still problems with reusing a needle.
