Yeah no shit. I put $20 in today and only got a little over 8 gallons. BS. Oh well it could be worse-we could have to cage fight to the death with an Arab everytime we needed to fill our tank. Just wait, it'll come to that soon enough. Oh, and we'll have to pay an entry fee.

I remember gas being in the 20-30 cent range as a kid.

In the week after the Exxon Valdez disaster, prices around here shot up from the .89 range to the 1.19-1.29 range.

I think the lowest I ever saw it in my lifetime was $0.199/gallon during the '60s gas wars.

Now that was a war I could muster up some nostalgia for.

$2.25 around here.
But, try not being able to get any gas and having to drive 30 miles for it. That's what we faced last year after the hurricanes here in Florida. We would have gladly paid $5 a gallon just to get it closer to home. What a riot. I've never seen people so freakin' pissed about not being able to get gas. God forbid if you were the one to drain the pump. You'd better run like you stole it.

Back in 1992 I remember going to get gas with my dad for $0.99/g. That's the lowest I remember ever seeing gas in my lifetime.
