Recuperation time for shoulder surgery?

I had surgery for osteolysis syndrome, basically they removed the end of my collar bone so it wouldnt grind anymore and had to cut the AC ligament also. That was two months ago today. I went to the gym and tried to do light bench (Dimes on each side) and I had a sharp pain if I lowered the weight too fast. Has anyone had this surgery before and when can I expect to be back to 100% in the gym? Thanks bros

Back in '96 I separted my collar bone from my shoulder and they had to cut off the end and pin it down. I never had any pain when I went back to the gym, but then again, I didn't hit the gym for about 6 months later. Just PT until then. It still gets a little bit sore, but it's like an arthritis pain now.

Its only been two months since my operation, I should guess I would be 100% by 6 months no problem. Thanks

I had my acromiom shaved and some other stuff done so my bicpep's tendon would not stay impinged and they told me 6 mos before I would be back to normal. Its been about 4 mos and I'm about 75% on chest/shoulder exercises however I have all kinds of dull aches and pains in the same area and that doesn't seem to be getting better.

BB Bench of anykind is out of the question and even incline exercises hurt too. I have the feeling my shoulder will never be the same even though the doctor told me it would feel "normal" after 6 mos.

good luck

I had arthroscopic on the left because the tissue was torn off almost all the way around the ball, they put a plastic pin in it that dissolved over time, that was in 1993. It still bothers me at times.

I crushed the bones together on the right shoulder twice, once skiing the other doing a superman over the handle bars of my mountain bike. had it operated on in 1997, they detached the muscle from the bone cut a half inch off the bone to give me the gap back that is supposed to be there, then reattached the muscle.

Both surgeries were the worst fuckin pain I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

I did 500mg a week of deca last year ending in October and my shoulders have never felt better since before they were operated on. Would not recommend the deca until rehabbing for at least a year or two because when on deca you will get strength gains that will fuck you up worse if you muscles are not yet strong enough to lift the weight.

My 2 cents....
