Recently prescribed T3 (cytomel)

Hey everyone I have been doing some research on this cytomel after being prescribed it for an augmentation for antidepressants as well as a low thyroid. I am currently taking 37.5 mcg (25 in the morning then 12.5 around 2-3pm). This is about my 3rd week taken it and I have noticed that if I take it on an empty stomach and don't eat for 2 hours after I feel no affect from it, but if I take it and then eat say 30 mins after I feel it's affects. Has anyone had experience with this. Also is there a certain dosage where the weight loss benefits are at it's peak while the negative impact on the thyroid is at it's lowest. I am not planning on cycling it do to the fact I am prescribed it and most likely will be taking it for a loooooong time or life. I am not overweight at all, probally sitting around 9% 10% BF, but I was previously 6-8%. My diet is clean low carb. I train for boxing 6 days a week, but still notice a lil fat gain (or could it be water?). Anyone with experience with T3 or just hypothyroidism in general I would appreciate some insight.

Great question. I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism as well and would like to hear about this too.

Not sure really. Ive ran it and felt no affect from it. Its like I never lost wgt i was on cyc while running it tho. But maybe its cause i dnt eat awards like ur talking about.

Heard ppl complain that cymotel is not a good brand which is from Mexico. Wish i could be more help.

Well I know this stuff isn't from Mexico and I feel effects of it (slightly warmer, improved mood and energy). But I am curious about how well it works when it comes down to fat loss and if I should change my diet in anyway, also should I take it before or after a workout?

I have put people on specific diets for thyroid problems and they have magically been cured of their low thyroid.

sometimes just eating the right things can speed up your metabolism. if you are deficient in vitamins and minerals that will do it.

of course doctors don't recommend that, they want to put you on cytomel and once you go on it for a while you are gonna be stuck on it forever

Cytomel is pretty sever for basic hypothyroidism. SOmething milder such as synthroid or Armor might be better. It depends on your levels. As for the fat loss -- it'll help burn fat for energy more efficiently, but don't expect drastic weight loss. ZIPhttp://proteinfactory.com/shop/product.php?productid=108&cat=0&page=1 does the same thing, but obviously not as strong as Cytomel but it also is not suppressive. .

You gotta ramp up and down dont play w ur tyroid as ur already having prob.

Should I change my diet?
Yes,

When should I take it?
The half life is around a day. If ur split doses then you want to do it equally 75mg would be e8 x03. Do the math. But you wanna go 25mg 03 days, 50mg 03 days, 75mg 03 days, 100 03 days without maxing over 120. When u hit ur peak mg stay no longer than 24 days then ramp down 100 03 days, 75 3 days ect ect ect.

If this is script u wont hv enough to do this so...

I think cymotel is made in mexico.

If you only taking one pill id take it a couple hours maybe four hrs before gym

Good points... there is a link to vitamin D defeciency and low thyroid output. This could be diet related, or could be an absorbsion issue for the individual... in which case supplimenting it may not help but it could also be solved by getting more sunlight on a regular basis or even using a tanning bed once or twice a week.

^^^ one individual I put them on Kale shakes 2X per day. (this person was also iron deficient as well).. their diet previously was chicken fingers and soda!! so i cleaned up their diet as well and put them on a fruit and veggie/ multi grain diet.

a few weeks later the after going back and doing a test again the doc told them that there was a mistake and he didn't believe they ever had low iron or low thyroid. reaaaaaaallllllyyyyy... docs do not study nutrition to know to put their patients on this.. and a lot of people are stubborn anyway and aren't willing to throw down kale shakes.. it helps that people trust my advice cause I live it.
