rear delts.... not happening

i do bent over fly thingies like 3x10, then they get worked directly via barbell rows and cable rows, also deadlifts. but only miniscule growth. any suggestions?
 
I think shoulders & arms are largely genetic.. mine dont grow much no matter what I try.

what kind of weights are you pulling? to quote someone larger than me "jacking off with girl dumbbells" on rear delt raises shouldn't make much difference if you're rowing 300+ and pulling 500+
 
I had rear delt problems for a while. Two things helped me. 1) I just do rear delt dbs and rows now, instead of 12 exercises done poorly. I used to keep switching instead of perfecting a basic movement. 2)I rotate my hands so the thumbs are touching instead of the usual palms facing. Most people are not anatomically built to hit their rear delts with the traditional movement, and work their rhomboids more. Trying playing with your wrist angle and upping the weight at the same time. It should click in a week or two at a new level.

no one's mentioned chins? throw in some chins with your palms supinated (facing you), and a close grip, works well. give it a shot!
 
it is such a small area of muscle....direct back work alone (rows, chins, etc.) should be more than sufficient.

i feel it the most with the rear delt machine, i cant feel the negative with db's

i can deadlift around 250ish for 1-4 reps. *sigh

genetic.

Yo Arg......I wouldn`t worry too much about your rear delts at this time in your training. You are relatively a beginner as we all have been beginners and IMHO....should concern yourself not with rear delts or reverse laterals or reverse pec deck flys or whatever ( all good exercises) but concentrate on the lifts that will make you overall bigger and stronger. Like rowing and your deads, chins, etc. etc. Having big rear delts won`t do diddly squat for size but having a big powerful back from paying your dues on the big lifts will give you size, strength and the look of power. You can concern yourself about the little details like your rear delts later on down the road. Build the foundation to your house first....worry about painting the trim after its built.

My rear delts are also very slow to grow. I can rep 250 on the reverse fly machine,and 300 and my rear delts dont grow for shit. I wonder whats moving the stack if its not the rear delts. haha My chest is flat against the pad. I just tried 300 recently and it wasnt hard at all, since Im at 3 different gyms and in a transition phase at the moment. Rear delts are still looking flat.
 
at the end of my shoulder workout i just follow ronnie style rear laterals. i run the rack up then back down. start with the 10's. do 10 reps, grab the 15's do 10 etc... all the way to the 35's. after the 35's run back down to the 10's. worst burn you will ever experience.

Sometimes I run the rack up n down with DB alternate curls. I hear ya. Its excruciating.
