Really sore/tight tendons..

this is a problem I have on or off cycle....i stretch but it doesn't help much. i've always been very tight and prone to muscle pulls and tendon/ligament strains. Years of pounding my joints has aggravated the issue. Lots of scar tissue build up. In particular my lower back and the tendons/ligaments around the knee caps. My quads and glutes are strong, but im limited to how much i can squat and leg press because of the pain. I have good days and bad days....i get by, by doing alot of sets...lots of reps....get the blood to the muscle and joints.

Sucks but im dealing....anyone else out there who can relate?

Its called getting old bro.

Im in the same boat. Old and new injuries limit my gains more than diet, or gear.

Best thing to do is to warm up throughly, stretch before and after working out, and make sure your nutritiion is solid.

When something gets aggravated, ice and ibuprofen can help - but reducing training untul it heals is your best bet.

I feel ur pain bro ! I was in a bad car wreck a few years ago. broke my right hip and collar bone! I cant go as heavy as i use to, but i found using moderate weight and higher reps will help pack on muscle! I still push myself as hard as i can. PAIN IS WEAKNESS LEAVING!!!!

yoga

Bikrim yoga would be an even better option because you dont need to "warm up" because the room is so hot, definitely good for the body

i ride motorcycles and i got hit by an SUV 2.5 years ago...needless to say, between the accident and 15 years of sports as a youth/young adult, I have tendonitis and ligament damage in both knees and both shoulders and nerve damage in my right elbow from the accident (elbow got punctured by a piece of debris and left a cute hole in my arm)...so yes, i definitely feel your pain and i suffer everyday when i go to the gym whether it's on or off cycle...the way i deal with it is to do each exercise properly (no cheating because it causes extra strain) and i take joint supplements...you should also try doing more reps at lower weights to get the joints/tendons used to the strain and slowly bump up the weights...it sucks but it's better than surgery...

a little tip...after every workout, hit the sauna up for 5 - 10 minutes...it seems to help alot for me

this is why i have been out of it for 5 years. I have some lovely tendonitis in my rear shoulders(rotators) and the back sides of my elbow. After starting weekly massage therapy(mostly accupressure) i can actually work out again. shoulders still burn like a bitch though. and I HAVE to go every week or I'm screwed.
Shoulders and elbows are clicky and poppy but Acti-Flex4000 fixed that in less than a week. 2oz a day for a week then 1 oz a day after that. I gag every morning when I take it but its well worth it. 16,000 mg of glucosamine , 8,000 mg of chondroiten(sp) , 3000 mg of collagen, plus a bunch of other stuff PER 2 oz.

I am on the Acti-Flex now as well. I am in the loading phase and it SUXXXXXXXXXXXXX! Taste like paint!!!
