whats a realistic amount of muscle that a relatively new to lifting person could expect to see in a 4 month bulk diet if everything was up to par?

way too many variables. genetics, training intensity, type of diet, adherence to
diet and training ad infinitum.

impossible to answer, but train hard and smart, eat properly and arm yourself with
knowledge and you can't go wrong.

i started out at 170 lb's. currently i'm at 242 with veeery low body fat.

I think if everything done up to pair at least 15 pounds, maybe more. Usually newbies grow a lot if they are doing the things right.

I dont know if you can put a number on it but if you have reasonable genetics and eat and train correctly you should see a difference in 4 months and after 2 years it should be night and day..

But again god couldnt have taken a shit on you genetic wise and train balls to the wall and eat and drink milk

If everthing is almost perfect, 1-2 pounds per week of solid mass can be added.
