read this diet I heard

My friend and her sister have started today a two-week "cleansing" diet consisting only of: brown rice, vegetable, fruit, juice, and water. It seems like the lack of protein and fats would make it actually really healthy...especially since their is no point in "cleansing" as she will go back to her regular junk food as soon as she is done.

I have no idea where they got the terms for this diet, or where it came from. Does this seem healthy at all to you?

typo! Woops. Yeah, that's what i'm saying! I feel like she will be really tired all the time because of no fats, and also lose some muscle and....health....because of the lack of protein.

My school doesn't allow you to take a date who is older than 25. HOW GAY IS THAT?!?!

I'm totally kidding, I think its retarded that the age is above 21.
 
I would think that the concept behind this is that you're eating a) whole (as opposed to processed) foods and b) relatively light foods, so it seems like it would be primarily for intestinal health (as in, a bit of colon cleansing) and maybe a little weight loss.

There's nothing inherantly wrong with a diet like that done periodically, there is a school of thought that eating too much of the same foods all the times causes a shortage of digestive enzymes for those particular foods, so switching up your diet periodically is good from that perspective. Now, can you LIVE on brown rice, veggies and fruit, no, and tons of hippies who went into macrobiotics without reading and understanding the diet quickly learned that :lmao:

But, IMO, anything that gets people eating fresh fruits and veggies, and eating outside of their comfort zone can't be all bad :qt:

:-( She's uneducated and will not put enough effort into losing weight in order to learn. Her sister is already very fit. They made a deal with each other that if one of them went off of it, they have to go streaking. Her sister has already lost. I don't think my friend will stick with the diet for a whole two weeks.

Gosh, I hope not. I don't want her to have to streak, but I feel like her usual food is actually more healthy than this.
