If the picture is showing exactly what the set up was, you could have hit the 2 ball in and stopped it dead or maybe a little bit of draw on it so you have an angle for the shot on the 1 ball. Then hit the 1 ball in with a cackload of top english so that it bounces of that rail and heads down to the other end of the table for a decent shot on the 3.
