Question on training

The SL 5x5 is one of the very finest programs out there bro. Just take a look in the journals section if you wanna see the kind of results that you can have from it. If you wanna bulk then you cant go wrong with the SL 5x5. The proof is right here on EF!

Yep
Workout A
Squat
Bench
Bent Over Row

Workout B
Squat
OHP
Dead Lift 1x5

All with barbells no machines or dbls.
Add 5 Lbs to every lift every workout.
EAT!
After 12 weeks you will look back and be amazed with your badass self bro.
5 sets of 5 reps.
Plain, simple and brutally effective.

the 5x5 workout doesn't seem like it would work

I did 2 5x5 runs back to back with a 2 week break in between.
3-4 months prior to that i practiced the 5 big lifts to get form right so lets call it an even year all together.
started 160lbs , 8% bf
Finished 198lbs 18% bf
Been cutting for a few months now and down to 188 and about 13-14% bf.
You have got to eat to gain so a bf increase is unavoidable but the strength and the mass are well worth it.
I went back to chest /back/legs/cardio/core until i get the bf a lil lower but i cant wait to get back to 5x5!
I love it!

well right now I'm not sure i can do squats or dead lift because of my ankle i sprianed it a week ago any other idea for legs for the next week or so?

Honestly bro i think you shouldn't do anything until you are 100%.
Get well, don't risk farther injury or a new injury cuz you're doing something awkward trying to protect your ankle.

I understand it just feels like if I workout my upper body and not my lower ill have a corn dog shaped body haha

Any of y'all that are doing the 5x5 program do y'all ever add anything in yalls workout besides those 4 lifts?

For the first couple times do the program exactly as it is written out. You have no idea how much your gonna learn about yourself and training.

Bro chill and listen to zed! He is the man on this shit! He doesn't know it but he's the one who got me interested in 5x5.
Unfortunately for him zed is suffering from a few broken bones right now and can't train himself.
But i am sure the good bro would help you out in every way he can. All you have to do is listen!!!!!!!!

So you wouldn't add any curls or anything?

Not at first man!
Do the program exactly as it is written!
Rome cannot be built in a day!
First you break ground
then you build a foundation
Then some walls
Then the roof.....are you getting it?
If you start adding stuff you are only going to hinder your growth.
This program has stood the test of time for a reason.

NO bro dont add anything.
Your arms are very well taken care of.
The rows hit your biceps with much more weight then you will ever get by doing curls.
The pressing hits your triceps.
So see, your arms have been well wroked out.

Thanks for the compliments gatemoney!
