Question for those who know

So I'm talking with my friend last night on the phone. He lives in California and I'm in the midwest.

He tells me he went on this interview for a new job. He told me he wore his best black suit.

Now, I'm not the fashion police or anything by a long shot, but, I was under the impression that you don't wear black to interviews, weddings or to see clients as the color depicts "death".

He tells me BS, he wears it all of the time.

Can anyone tell me who is right or is it just a matter of opinion that only the fashion police can solve?

never heard that. aren't most tuxes at weddings black?

i just had a discussion like this, this past weekend about white and labor day.

Absolutely appropriate to wear black to an interview.

If you're interviewing to be the town undertaker.

A nice black suit would look good. I think it depends on his shirt/tie combo.

I usually wear a grey pinstripe to big meetings and/or interviews. White shirt with a pink, orange, or purple tie.
