question for the 3 experts?

question for the t3 experts?

Here is what the medical sites say about its actions

Thyroid hormones are believed to exert most of their actions through control of protein synthesis. At moderate concentrations, they increase the synthesis of RNA and protein, followed by an increase in basal metabolic rate; they stimulate oxidative enzyme systems, enhance the release of free fatty acids from adipose tissue, and increase the intestinal absorption and peripheral utilization of glucose. At higher concentrations, they decrease protein synthesis, uncouple oxidative phosphorylation and increase the breakdown of glycogen, lipids and protein.

anyone know what "higher concentrations" would be? I stayed at 50mcg per day for most of the run, but cycled it up to 100mcg for the last 5 days. I carb load in 2 days, and dont want to take the chance of it decreasing protein synthesis, and the effects on gycogen and such, which would make it harder to make the carb load work.

I am planning on cycling back down to 50mcg, 75mcg today, 50mcg the day of the carb load....could I get away with a higher dose, or does this sound right?
Or is any of this making sense at all?

It essentially comes down to when it becomes supressive. At what dose? Different for everyone. What are the exact "higher concentrations?" Impossible to determine without bloodwork. Cycling down is the safest bet, though maybe not the most optimal. .

Also, T4 is less supressive than T3 so a switch over from one to the other may buy you more time. When cutting back, I'd recommend additional iodine, selenium , tyrosine and 7 keto dhea.

Sorry I can't be more specific

Needsize - I know you question is directed to specific people about this. Actually it is a fantastic question. But in terms of moderate concentrations, I would bet that 50mcg is well above what they were terming moderate.

As an adjunct therapy to T4 replacement in patients they use doses of 5mcg and increase in 5mcg increments until there is improvement in Thyroid panel values.

That is in patients with impaired thyroid function. Since I'm assuming yours is healthy then maybe a dose of 5mcg or 10mcg would be considered moderate also.

Sorry if this wastes your time because it is clearly opinion on my part. However the question then also remains - to what degree would higher concentrations have the effects you are looking to avoid?

Maybe they can answer that as well?

anxiety, difficulty sleeping, elevated pulse, diarrhea, muscle aches and weakness, hair loss, fatigue, exhaustion, irrtations or sensitivity in eyes or neck area, among others, feeling jittery Shaking hands,Feeling irritable, overemotional, aggressive, easily startled, or erratic,Difficult concentrating, mind is always racing, can't shut off thoughts,
Depression,Excessive thirst,Dizziness, breathlessness,Eyes are enlarging or looking "bug-eyed",Dry, gritty, irritated, red eyes,Headache in eye area, pain behind the eyes,

also I think just lesioning to your body and what is telling you is a good way to tell if you are taking to much...instinctive training in a way I would say.there are lots of signs your body will show you if you are taking way to much bro and going past the positive stage into the negative effects realm.I listed a few of the big ones.these are all signs of Extreme over medicating of t-3 t-4

Ineedto - I think you didnt read the question, I know all about using it, I was wondering what dose it would be counter-productive to carb loading

old vet, if I am asking about how this will affect carb loading, then the show hasnt happened yet

My best bet here would be above 100-120mcgs. Clinically those doses are used to treat more severe thyroid problems so I am guessing that these doses are found to be the maximum they can use whereby staying within the boundaries of where RNA and protein synthesis is still of benefit and not detriment to the patient.

I think those doses are HIGH. The reason there is a limit is probably not because of RNA and protein synthesis, but because of toxicity.

I think your carb load should be fine Needsize. It's not like it can reduce carb partitioning by 50% or something crazy like that.

It would be nice if Anthony Roberts had a take on this.

NELSON I always use DHEA when cutting
can you elaborate on the importance

best of luck needsize!! you look great brother
