Have you ever dealt with or heard of someone in the military being busted for steroid use? Also what were the circumstances? Were they tested, or was it found on them, etc.? Thanks I'm just curous to hear a professional opinion bcause I know a lot of guys use and I never hear of anyone getting caught but I also know it's a hot topic lately in the US.

I've done some work with the military and people are getting busted left and right in Iraq for possession. Most are getting reduced in rank but not discharged (usually a field grade Art. 15). I sat in on a few Art 32 hearings a while back and most of the steroid cases were ones where a buddy got inspected and he ratted on his friends.

I have yet to see one case where a person got tested via urinalysis and got busted that way. In the Army the test is command directed so a random drug test is not going to pop a soldier.

In the Marine Corps I did legal admin and saw tons of drug pops. There were very few that got in trouble for steroids though, and when it did happen it was almost always the wife or someone they knew that ratted him out. I dont think i ever saw anyone pop on a piss test. But in the Marine Corps, well the unit I was in anyway, you would definitely get discharged....Other Than Honorable.
