Big Bad Buff said:I love it. It was a true work of genius imo. It's simple and very effective. The 5x5 he posted in the training section, is based on progressive resistance, and uses the same weight for all 5 sets, with the weight being raised every workout, provided you get all 5x5 on the same weight. It also has 2 other accessory exercises, for 2 sets each, in the 8-10 rep range to focus on hypertrophy as opposed to strength. So chest day would look like this
bench 315 5x5
incline dumbell press 2x8-10 reps
incline flyes 2x8-10 reps
It is also based on a 4 or 5 day split, not 2 day like the original version. His verson also has variations (such as 5x3) that you switch to when you plateau on 5x5.
I especially like his routine:
day 1 chest/calves
day 2 back/shoulders
day 3 and 4 rest
day 5 bis/tris/calves
day 6 quads/hams/abs
day 7 rest
Nelson is probably the last person on the board you want to take training and cycling advice from so be very leery of what he suggests. Remember, his background is supplements, which for most part are useless anyway.

Nelson Montana said:THis coming from someone who claims to have read my book which is 75% training. I dare BBB (Juice Authority) to quote one page from it.
The 5X5 routine works very well. EVERYTHING works very well for a while. It's essentially Vince Girondas 6X6 routine with 1 rep and 1 set excluded.
I would also be leery of what BBB says since this is a guy who takes steroids non stop, has not been able to recover on CLomid even though he continues to argue its merits ( do a search on the anabolic board). He has a wife and kid yet spends up to 6 hours a day on message boards, mostly to harass me. How sad is that?

Your one claim to fame is that you used be a writer for T-Mag. When they learned of your incompetence they FIRED you. That's right, Nelson was FIRED from probably the biggest joke magazine in bodybuilding. Pathetic.
Nelson Montana said:Why anyone would ask advice from someone who conducts himself in this manner is beyond me.
And he knows what went down behind closed doors at T-Mag? Amazing.
Big Bad Buff said:What went down is that you were FIRED, which freed up your time to write books about how the supplement companies were all out to get us. Then after preaching against the supplement companies what does Nelson do? He comes out with his own line of supplements to push. LOL.
