question about pull throughs

i read the description for pull throughs at elitefts.com as well as at t mag, when doing this am i supposed to go from the bent over position with rope behind my legs and stand up, ora m i supposed to keep my knees locked and sort of like a SLDL pull teh cable through my legs?
 
yeah i get that, my question is am i supposed to stand up resulting in locking my knees compeltely, or do i keep my knees bent without moving that angle and just pull the rope up?
 
i dont think its ever safe to actually LOCK your knees while doing any sort of lift. i keep them slightly bent
 
yeah if im using them to work hamstring i keep a slight bend in my leg and dont move them. if i want to work hips and glutes, it looks like im squatting.

You can do it a couple ways. One you will feel more in your hammies, and one you will feel more in your lower back.

I agree though about the locking. Even when I my legs are "straight" I keep the joint "soft locked."

these are done with a band. but you can do them with a v-bar handle and a low cable pulley.
